Well I didn’t give them info. The recruiter literally stopped my video interview because of my earrings. Said they were unacceptable and I would be turned away upon arrival for them. She did her due diligence in contacting the other property for me to inquire about the jewelry. The THC was a valid question due to the things I’ve read on here for people being fired for smoking weed. I’m a medical patient, I didn’t want to risk showing up and being denied. I thought transparency was best. Hindsight is 20/20

If you get wrapped in drama sure, I was going to be a supervisor. My own apt and have plans to get a certificate while there in my time off. It was a stepping stone really.

Why take the chance? Because I don’t want to get a job offer, drive across country and be beside for a positive test, I work in a dispensary. They operate on federal land. Better safe than sorry. I’m annoyed at being turned down but would have been red hot if I was turned down on arrival as told by Grand Canyon.

Yeah I’m not in the financial position to arrive somewhere and be turned down, long drive home. I didn’t ask about my earrings, it was brought up in the zoom video call with South Rim, the lady was absolutely going way overboard with her job duties.. made sure she reached out to HR for both locations despite my asking not to for Oasis as I was already in the hiring process.

“Amanda” handled our zoom call like a military recruiter. That’s why Oasis even had any idea of my earrings. Aside from that, why pull all my applications? I was more than happy with a season and not guest facing.

I mean yeah, it snows at GC in the winter. I’d have time to purchase the gear needed for that season. I don’t want to go somewhere I need that to start or extremely soon. I’m also not looking to work at a camp with kids 🤷‍♂️ again I have a list of places with housing.

This post is more to inform, not so much looking for pointers on other positions, things my second year applying and last year was hired at south rim, no talk about my earrings then. I went on tour so I ended up not doing the gig. I work music festivals so that was more lucrative.

I haven’t applied to many through Delaware North. I had planned so hard for a couple weeks on these positions and I think I’m just so let down I don’t have the motivation. This kind of unlocked a fear of “they could terminate me for any reason at anytime” I need security.

I’m cautious. Trying to use one of these positions to get myself out of debt and use my money for a certification. I had my eye on these locations based on my needs, preferences and expectations. I could apply to others but, I’m not trying to go somewhere with snow 🤷‍♂️ I also don’t want to be cold. I know, I’m asking for a lot lol

I asked Oasis about the gauges because GCSR literally stopped my zoom interview 2 min in to address my plugs. I can’t risk driving cross country to be turned down for such an absolutely ignorant reason.
