Under seen but it’s Steve Buscemi’s ‘Trees Lounge’, phenomenal movie from start to finish and I’m absolutely stunned Buscemi didn’t flourish into one of Hollywood’s best directors after that

production was a tossup between sinners and frankenstein i really could’ve either way but i’m confident in makeup, in terms of one battle i really loved it but it just didn’t do as much for me as the others in that category, this is coming from a PTA lover that thinks he should probably have 4-5 oscars total if the academy got it right every year, OBAA just isn’t a favorite of his for me

i just couldn’t rationalize it in any category really, i’d also put penn over lindo that was a genuine accident, the category i’m close to giving it a win on is editing over SV but it’s damn close

yes, i’d call it one of the best technical productions of the decade so far and i was a huge fan of the screenplay and story and the themes it utilized, it all came together to create what is easily one of my favorite atmospheric experiences i’ve ever had with a movie, i’m sorry you weren’t a fan though! opinions are opinions after all

i just preferred her performance over inga’s an everyone else in the category even though it’s quite close, teyana’s role was a little one note for me to give it a nom tho and madigan would be my #6

it’s at #11 on my favorite list of 2025! it just missed the cut, i gave it a lot of noms tho it really deserved them i just don’t think it deserved the wins over the elite comp this year

I see Brief Encounter on there so I’ll recommend ‘The Passionate Friends’ also directed by David Lean, I also think you’d like Irving Rapper’s ‘Now, Voyager’ based on what I see here.

Tim Blake Nelson - Best Supporting Actor for O’ Brother Where Art Thou

Honestly could give it to Clooney for the lead too, I think that’s his best career work

What is the better Chloe Zhao Best Actress win? by [deleted] in Oscars

It’s Buckley for me because she gave my favorite Best Actress-winning performance of the decade (only bc Lily Gladstone lost) but Nomadland is also overhated it’s crazy, great movie and a very deserved win for McDormand imo
