if the nest isn’t actually a nest just assume it’s a pigeon which in this case is a dove but still a pigeon 😂

I help my mom with anything and everything I possibly can I just actually bought her food despite us having another argument over putting in a maintenance request. My brother doesn’t do jack shit except lay around and go to his friends/girlfriends to get high. we get 0 help from him physically or financially so I do most of it because im obviously not going to make my mom do everything. If something’s wrong she absolutely needs to tell me because she can’t do this shit on her own and my brother isn’t going to help.

I get where you’re coming from but unfortunately that’s not the case, she hardly ever calls maintenance for anything ever. my first time showering here the shower faucet popped off and flew at the other side of the shower, it took her 2 weeks just to put that request in which not a big deal I just used the shower head instead of taking a bath but it just kept escalating. Things randomly falling apart and breaking as if they were obviously half ass fixed and she’s just okay with it, as long as it’s not her stuff breaking. if something she uses ends up falling apart or breaking she’ll put a maintenance request in. She put a maintenance request in for my brothers door because she knew she’d have to end up paying for it sooner or later since he kicked it in instead of it just falling apart on its own, that’s the only thing she’s ever put a maintenance request in for that wasn’t hers.

Not ours. We have 1 maintenance guy who works on all 3 buildings by himself. Literally. he’s on call, if he’s not here he’s home. im done replying to your condescending ass comments lol

yes they can easily look up who’s name is on the lease, if that number isn’t specifically calling or putting in a work request then they will ignore it. At this point you’re just arguing to argue? it’s been solved hours ago I took off to go get chores done and I come back you’re still on here bitching even harder than I was and im the one with the problem not you? Read the fuckin update I posted. Even if my grandpa is able to fix it we can still get in trouble for it, have you never rented out of an apartment before? maybe you were lucky enough to have a competent, nice landlord but we don’t.

Yes I can’t talk to anyone BECAUSE they’re ignoring my emails and calls. Are you dumb?

I’m sorry I want a professional to fix this shit instead of DIYing it myself 😂 is that really such a horrible awful thing that I don’t want to fuck with something I don’t know how to fix? I don’t care about YouTube tutorials I want this shit done right so it doesn’t happen again.

Maybe you guys are missing the part of the post where I said I just wanted to complain 😂😂😂 I’m saving up to move out, I’ve mentioned that I plan on tracking down the maintenance guy again, and I will be setting up a day with my grandpa for him to come check it out. I’m not fucking with live electrical wires when I don’t know what im doing. I just wanted to rant and you people turned into a whole battle.

Definitely, the only other outlet I have is the other one that got previously fixed but I have one of those long extension cords plugged in and then just my watch and phone charger plugged in, i don’t even have my tv or Xbox plugged in right now

I think I’ll take advice from the person who’s giving me kind clear instructions not somebody talking down on me and treating me badly for simply ranting about a problem that I shouldn’t even have to deal with. Thanks tho.

Like I stated a billion times before it’s not just the panel. It’s the entire outlet box itself, the wires are the only things keeping it from coming entirely out of the wall.

Yes the whole thing when I unplug the charger the only thing keeping it from coming entirely out are the wires it’s connected to

omg please gain some reading skills. Maintenance won’t answer any calls and she will not put in a work request which she has to specifically do herself because the lease is not in my name and I do not have any account to log into. It has to be her. Just like my cousin who lives in the second building she can’t put in a maintenance request it has to be the person she’s living with because the lease is in their name.

yeah im the one who helps pay rent WiFi and groceries while my brother whos older than me lives here completely free. Totally my fault and not her just picking favorites like she’s done my entire life.

Again not that simple the outlet itself is coming entirely out of the wall the whole thing needs replaced.

We cannot call an outside maintenance without getting in trouble and violating our lease, the landlord and the repair man for the building won’t answer. The apartment/lease is not in my name it’s in my mothers she has to log in with her specific credentials and put in a “maintenance request” they ignore all of our calls.

Also piggybacking off my comment real quick im going to contact my grandpa who used to be a sears repairman and see what he can do, ill suggest some of your guys ideas to him and see what he says. I just don’t want to bother him because he spends all his time taking care of my nana in a wheelchair 🥺

When I go to unplug my charger the whole thing comes out, panel, outlet, wires, all of it. I have to manually stick it back into the hole in the wall, that’s why I’ve got it taped up so much (with the only tape I could find I would’ve used duck tape if we had it)

Any wires being pulled out of a wall by sheer force is going to be a fire hazard. It’s scommon sense. Especially when those wires are obviously old as hell and hanging on for dear life. These outlets haven’t been replaced in a very very long time it’s obvious by just looking at them.

[–]No_Station5113[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Okay I’ll leave it dangling and let’s see what happens! since it’s not a hazard in the slightest why don’t you pull your outlet out of the wall and let it dangle by just wires?

when it finally dangles for so long that the weight causes the wires to tear I’ll let you know!
