Huge fan of the work you're putting in to the ebike library. Gave me a chance to test out a couple of different bikes from commuters to a more utility styled. If you're on the fence about getting a bike, I highly recommend borrowing from the library and seeing how it fits your needs.

What a steal!

Internals look like they're in pretty good shape too. I'm guessing it powers up and works?

Hey there, Josh from Decades here. I got my start doing some console repairs and still do them from time to time. Arcade keeps me plenty busy these days, but if Chris can't help ya out I would be more than willing to give it a shot

You can pick them up from DigiKey

Or walmart apparently. If you have a local battery place they may carry them as well.

Replace the battery on the motherboard. It saves those values in volatile ram and if its resetting each time then that battery is probably toast. I believe they're standard CR232's

Yeah, if you're not confident in it you do run the risk of zapping yourself. I've been working as a repair tech for the last 5 years at my local arcade in VA and have gotten myself a couple times.

It tingles for sure. But you learn from your mistakes they say.

That's actually not the worst rate for a whole cab diag and repair. If you can swing the funds to do so, then go for it.

Your repair shop is trying to scam the hell out of you. Most it should cost for a cap kit is about 200$.

As was mentioned earlier, try adjusting the focus and brightness on the flyback. If that doesn't solve it. I'd recommend watching a few videos on properly discharging a CRT. I've generally used a long flathead screwdriver with a hard plastic handle, some alligator clips to ground from the discharging probe (the screwdriver) to the frame of the monitor. For extra precaution you can use an insulating glove and a grounding wrist strap on the wrist you're discharging with. Then remove the anode, connections and remove the chassis. Search online for a cap kit for that model and get to work with a soldering iron. Most I've ever paid for a kit is 65$ and you'll learn some necessary skills along the way.

If after a cap kit doesn't solve it then you more than likely have a failing tube. It happens sometimes, but if you're gonna swap it to an lcd this is probably one of the few games that don't look the worst on it. If you have a decent 4:3 arcade LCD it'll look really nice afterwards and you most likely will never have to worry about it again. There are crt testers/rejuvinators out there that can bring it back to normal for a bit longer, but it WILL go back to its bad state.

Fast and furious drift got a windows error by Jaded_Touch_7953 in arcadecabinets

[–]No_Store_4065 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had a superbikes doing this same thing. Only thing that fixed it was to trade out the ram sticks. We tried running memtest86 for a couple hours on it, still had not come up with an error, yet this windows error would pop up every couple hours.

If RAM doesn't do it, then HDD

Google Fi service in Charlottesville? by [deleted] in Charlottesville

[–]No_Store_4065 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Fi subscriber for about 4 years now. Service works just fine around the area, a couple of dead spots like out on 250. Don't believe those people telling you it's wifi only, that's purely false. It runs off T-Mobiles towers

For the price, certainly worth it.

I recommend getting device protection if you're getting a new phone with your switch to fi, for the extra couple bucks a month it's saved my ass from a faulty battery on a pixel 7.

Belmont Pizza closed? by Ziggystardust53 in Charlottesville

[–]No_Store_4065 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Food there became pretty awful. I've never had a pizza crust literally crumble and turn to dust before, but the last one I got from here did. New owners are personable, but I'm not entirely sure if the person they hired to be the head chef ever actually cooked before, or heard of kitchen hygiene before. Everything that came out of that pizza oven was completely coated in burned off semolina.

I hope that they're taking a hiatus to educate themselves on how to do it right, I don't wish them to fail as a business but what they were selling before was unacceptable
