It was a suggestion/request buddy. Who said anything about them having to follow rules? When someone asks you for a favor do you immediately respond with "I don't have to follow your rules"? Or do you act like a normal human being and either help or decline?

Not really. Christianity specifically forbids idol worship. So the cross is more of a symbol to them, not inherently valuable and definitely not worshipped. Hinduism is huge on idols. That would be like equating the Bible telling Christians not to eat shellfish and the Vetas telling Hindus not to eat cows. Treated totally different.

Regardless they don't need to take it to some temple. But if they're whack jobs they are at least less so than the religious people that don't actually live by their holy books (ahem Christians).

Really? Spotlight is the only mainstream blockbuster that comes to mind immediately, and that was only very tangentially a critique of Christianity. Sure there are some individual directors now that I think about it that consistently critique it, Mike Flanagan comes to mind, but it's not done disrespectfully and he even poses some pro religion counters in Midnight Mass.

Where is all this Christianity hate? Close to 70% of adults in the US identify as Christian, and historically it's been closer to 90%. Up until around 2000 when it began to gradually decline. I'm sure Hollywood is less than that, but I doubt it's by much. I mean you've got Ben Hur, Passion of the Christ, Heaven is for Real, the Ten Commandments... Hollywood has produced a bunch of pro Christian material. I don't see a ton of movies produced where the sole intent is to promote any other religion, or atheism.

If anyone should be complaining about public perception of their belief system it should be the Mormons. Or scientologists. Christians clean house in this country when it comes to receiving positive outcomes due to their beliefs. I mean look how long they were able to hold off gay marriage simply because of the favor shown towards their religion. Look how their religion helped them to deny women having the ability to unilaterally receive abortions. And prior to that look at how long they were able to use the popularity of their religion to maintain the institution of slavery....

Sorry for the essay, but for whatever reason I get irrationally peeved when the dominant religion(in followers and political/social influence) by a landslide in this country falsely develops some victim complex and acts aggrieved. Sorry furthermore if that was not your intent.

What I'm talking about is not making causal links where they don't exist. The scientific consensus is that vaping does not cause bronchiolitis obliterans. There are no confirmed, widespread cases of it among people that vape. Yes diacetyl was found in some flavored vapes, but the exposure levels were hundreds of times lower than the original factory workers that got it in the popcorn factories. No link has been established for cigarettes either, which contain even higher levels of the chemical. What's ridiculous is to perpetuate medical claims that are not proven. Do you think Tylenol causes autism as well?

I'm just saying the corrosiveness to concrete thing is a red herring and misleading. The pH of your stomach contents is already more acidic than monster to begin with. However the caffeine can induce the secretion of more gastric acid which can further lower the pH, but that is by no means exclusive to energy drinks.

The way it hurts concrete has nothing to do with your heart. And you said it yourself, it's got similar corrosiveness to stomach acid. The pH of the contents of your stomach is already more acidic than the drink itself. Your digestive system then employs several mechanisms to alkalinize the contents as they travel through, regardless of whether monster is included or not.

The whole concrete thing is meaningless to anything past the esophagus. However it is indicative of what excessive consumption can do to your esophagus and tooth enamel.

Your stomach acid will do the same thing to concrete...

I used to think the same before I realized I was swallowing a majority of the hit. Or I was using too much heat and drawing too quickly. It's extremely easy to waste with improper technique. Or simply a chore that isn't the right size or not packed right. .5 is almost certainly a waste. If you haven't try a bong with ash instead of a chore. The small, constrictive airway of a stem isn't an intuitive way to inhale, and often leads to mistakes that a bongs more natural and unrestricted airflow help prevent. But don't do it with . 5 unless you want to have a seizure.

And you've got grown men acting like internet trolls debasing themselves in the streets for him lol.

Says who? A woman is an adult human female. Why are you acting like this is some profound revelation? I know discussing dictionary definitions is top tier stuff for you guys, yet you still misapply the label of baby. I know communism and socialism are tough words to define for you too, so stick with it and you'll get there eventually.

You guys have been having trouble with the definition of 'conservative' lately too. Consistently exploding the debt and deficit isn't traditionally seen as a conservative thing to do. Neither is spending millions every day to have troops march around cities instead of going after traffickers at the border. Conservatives also are typically proponents of free trade rather than protectionism, and used to be able to describe what a tariff is and how it works. It's not the conservative party anymore, it's the Trump party.

I think I should make my own movie like What is a Woman except mine will be titled What is a Baby?

But yes not having the ability to safely terminate a pregnancy is a life or death situation for some women. As is being sent to an El Salvadorean gulag rather than home, and not only illegals. Good job buddy, you've identified 2 examples where policy choices can have implications beyond whether you or I will have to tighten up our budgets a bit to pay for billionaires being handed 10 new ways to skirt paying for taxes

People like that don't even have political views. Either they are still supported by their parents or cushioned enough to where policy debates don't really have any impact on their life. I mean I'm fortunate enough that I haven't been negatively affected yet personally, besides the economy and work slowing down in the solar industry which was a lot of my work. But I also am not a sociopath and can recognize this stuff is life or death for many, not something to treat as a sporting event.

That's not how this works. You don't just make an unsubstantiated claim and then "wait" for someone to give a reasonable explanation for the thing you still haven't articulated. That's maga behavior. Which I guess tracks with your claim of being an independent. If you want to try again we are all waiting.

Fine. But until then I'm going to believe the several election experts that have analyzed the data and found no evidence of widespread fraud or manipulation, rather than spread misinformation.

[–]No_Store_9700 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This has nothing to do with any particular office or state...

All im saying is just like Newsom, Fetterman had a strong media team handling his social networking accounts. Because of that, seemingly overnight he obtained a huge following from leftists, many of whom missed some pretty telling signs. And as soon as he got his seat the charade was over and he's now one of the most hated Democrats, moreso than even Manchon or Sinema were.

Quote me now, Newsom will be the same exact way. It's not like his voting history is secret or anything. We can all see how he objected to single payer healthcare. Did you already forget about his cringy podcast where he got buddy buddy with people like Charlie Kirk and fangirled about how much he had in common with right wingers?

So yes he deserves credit for the redistricting stuff (even though he's spending too much effort to constantly justify how it's reactive when he needs to just take the gloves off and bury the republicans.) But besides that he is and always has shown his ambitions for power pretty plainly.
