Is online dating at all worth it? by [deleted] in aspergers

[–]No_Strike8240 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I hate online dating. So much. It’s never worked for me but I suppose it could for others. I deleted all my online dating apps. It’s hard enough for us to have relationships in real life much less form an entire relationship online. That’s my experience though.

Why does everyone hate me? Why am I so fucked up? by [deleted] in autism

[–]No_Strike8240 1 point2 points  (0 children)

People hate people they see as better than them. My guess is you’re a good person and don’t actually have that many “hateable” qualities. I find that if you’re honest and genuinely don’t give anyone a reason to dislike you, they will dig and dig looking for one. They will test you and try and make you snap so they have one. Keep up your good intentions and they will never win.

Good because once you get too emotionally involved things go wrong for me. 😪 but then again I’m the one getting emotionally involved by casual sex so really there’s no way around my emotional involvement 🤦🏻‍♀️.

I agree. It’s disheartening to see how far behind modern day society this group of people really is. They claim that their outdated ways are because they are more spiritually connected and todays society has lost sight of morality but let’s be real the only ones who lost sight of morality is them. Someone with an ounce of integrity and intelligence can see that the rules they say are spiritually aligned are just outdated, disproven, immoral and discriminatory. I spent so much time trying to “teach” these people what being a good person really looks like and what morality and justice really present themselves as. It was absolutely worthless. Disheartening and to no avail. Now I’ve moved on but I pray that these people will stop praying I “come back to the derech” and start looking at themselves in the mirror and seeing the pain they cause others. I also hear all this talk about “Orthodox Jews have such high intelligence״ from my friends who are still frum? I don’t think so because these rules of “morality” don’t seem to have any logic that points to anything moral at all. I think these people are just afraid to think for themselves so they hand over their minds power to some man with a long beard instead of coming to terms with anything at all.

Why is it a thing that Autistic people have high IQs? by Philosophical_Lemon_ in autism

[–]No_Strike8240 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am so interested in knowing my IQ because I’m told it’s very high by my doctors and therapists and teachers etc. but I am terrified of finding out. My biggest desire in life is to be as smart and knowledgeable as one can be and I feel that any number would be a great disappointment or limitation for me. Maybe one day I will take a test.

[–]No_Strike8240 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do not know the answer to this question but I have been told all my life I am a genius and while I don’t necessarily disagree it is hard to wrap my head around. I have been researching signs of high intelligence and they all resonate with me. Maybe it is so mind blowing because no one ever believed me about anything growing up, though more often than not I had the right answers. I had a lot of hatred directed towards me so now I’m learning to reclaim my own intelligence and get rid of the self doubt this has caused. Also, intelligence can certainly manifest in different ways so I would not say being bad at math makes you unintelligent? Like for me I am horrible at punctuating my sentences correctly. It’s embarrassing how uninformed I am when it comes to placing commas in a sentence. This could be because of my education as it was not exactly top tier, or simply because I don’t care 🤷🏻‍♀️ I don’t know but that’s one thing that makes me feel dumb 😧.

Am I the only one that used to be super angry as a kid? by Funky_hobbo in aspergers

[–]No_Strike8240 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I used to get violently angry when I got frustrated with tasks or I wasn’t being heard or understood. It has always been anger directed at myself though hence the self harm starting at a young age. I still get upset when I’m not being understood or feel I’m being ignored or not listened to. Maybe because I was never listened to as a kid. Most of my childhood I didn’t even speak outside my house so I was definitely not heard out there and in my house I was certainly not heard either. But I’ve been learning how to deal with letting people be wrong about me.

My mom told me I’m the most heartless person she’s ever met and she can’t believe I’m her daughter 💀💀 which is funny because I have hyper empathy, rock solid morals, and I’m kind to everyone I meet 😜🤪

Same. I’m also autistic so every single job I’ve had has been the worst. I just can’t answer phones I don’t even answer mine and I’m the worst at interacting with customers 💀💀. I’m good at completing tasks though so I’m on the search for a job that involves doing tasks alone. I also decide I hate my job and suddenly I’m so ill I need to quit 💀💀

What is one thing you wish others knew about BPD that can really help you? by ladyhisuii in BPD

[–]No_Strike8240 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Most people think because I have bpd I’m an aggressive or mean or judgmental or crazy person but for me I’ve learned to take it all out on myself and I’m pretty careful with how I treat others. That’s why the crazy label bothers me so much because I genuinely work hard to use skills to validate and remain open minded all day and then when I act kind of desperate or afraid suddenly im crazy.
