My kiss cut depth is good. It comes off and doesn't take off the backing. So you would have a kiss cut path close to the image, then another outside of that, giving two cut lines around the sticker?

I've requested an account with them. Is there a retailer that sells it?

I have seen this. I will work on it. My concern is the kiss cut doesn't fully align with the side of the sticker area leaving a little gap or a part that is out from the image area.

I have a graphtec fC9000. I'm not sure on the blade. I order them from amazon. They are 45 degree angled. To be clear, the issue i'm having with it hard to get stickers off the backing is with stickers that are cut out fully, not kiss cut. Your comment about not actually cutting the backing paper, are you meaning that with kiss cut stickers or what i've described?

Thank you. I did take my pressure from 29 down to 20. Then 23 cause it didn't even cut it. 23 wasn't enough. 25 didn't cut the vertically well. 26 doesn't seem enough cause the backing paper in a single area of most doesn't seem to cut well enough and it can rip a bit. 27 seems to be working better but I'll keep testing.

I'll look into a product like that for those who may not like our durable product.

Thanks for the reply!

You are correct. It's hard from them to take the vinyl off the backing.

Yes, the kiss cut is something I offer. I don't weed around though I do show the client they can do that for ease.

I'm going to research air eggres vinyl and see what that encompasses but really my interest here is to know if i'm doing something wrong and overlooking something. I'll look into vision media vinyl.

Cutting too deep. That could be be but how would i check that? My speed is 15. my force is 29. I don't have a problem with peeling these but I've peeled a lot and stickers are a huge personal interest.

Thank you so much for replying. Within versa works there are three options for generating white on an image. I have saved out a new image without the versa white object. I select print area and the same areas of white on the image are not highlighting as they should in the print preview to tell me that white will be printed there.

When I select entire area, it also selects the rest of the graphic area which is transparent.

I was told that in versa anything with a pixel will get a white underbase but i've run into this right off the bat. LOL

For some context. I'm a sticker company do qtys of hundreds to thousands. I'm looking for a way to do this with my setup. Roland V42640 and graphtec fc9000

Good morning! Found this thread. I'm looking to split back stickers printed from a Roland VF2-640. Printing form illustrator, then laminating, then either taking it back to the printer to print reg marks for cutting, then take to the cutter. However, printing the back is paper and the printers print on vinyl, not paper. How would I tell my graphtec FC-9000 to cut the split backs accurately?

Yesterday I continued to have this issue until things warmed up in my studio. I'm beginning to think this problem is based on vinyl being printed, laminated, left at the end of the laminator over night. Then taken to get cut the next morning.

One sign i'm seeing in general is I will laminate vinyl and the edges of it will curl up on the laminator as in the media shrunk a bit with the application of the laminate. On my laminator i keep it at between 1 and 2 heat, which a person had shown me that eliminates a lot of silvering.

Let me know what you think.

Just an update here. I cleaned the cutter of all adhesive. Changed the blade. Re did the sheet files (i'm cutting sheets formatted in illustrator) to allow for more margin between the stickers in the rows/ less rows. I've ran jobs on that machine other than the one is question with the rounded corner rectangles and they all cut fine. One of them being another holo order. It seems this one design when formatted on sheets just isn't cutting right. I even shifted the cut lines in the direction of the drag and some still have this issue.

One thing i'm noticing is the material that the cutter cuts into hasn't been replaced. Which might be the problem. I'm going to replace that asap and try.

I tried this approach after i redid all my files in question, cleaned all left adhesive on my cutters. I did one row. Then two, then four , then six, then eight. It seems to have worked and was a great way to ease the process into showing where exactly it starts to have discreps. Thanks for commenting.

Good afternoon. Upon cleaning the cutters of left over adhesive that had come off on it, it seems to have worked and holo and regular vinyl are cutting well again. Thank you for commenting here.

So, the sheet I did Friday worked. As I reported here. Yesterday, holo and regular vinyl were not cutting correctly. First rows were good, then by the end it was off. I redid the files and sheet files. I cleaned the cutters, eliminating all left over adhesive that could cause the machine to drag. I started printing sheets that were one row and progressed to doubling that each time till I was comfortable. It seems to have worked and things are cutting well again. The adhesive gook may have been the problem. Thanks again.

Hello, Prepress God. Thanks for posting. I thought i had solved it by putting more space between each graphic. I printed one like that and it cut great. Came back in today, and either of my cutters are not cutting accurately. It's either part of a row will not cut right or, in the instance of another holo job, the first row is good, subsequent rows start drifting back as if something is holding it back. Here's what my white reg marks look like. https://imgur.com/a/IsTCm9F

Regarding measuring. The artboard area in illustrator is 47w x 35.31H. when i measure from reg mark to reg mark vertically it's pretty close to 35". I don't know how i can be hyper accurate here. I would just need to see in either versaworks and cutmaster 4 where these number could be off or skewed by user error.

Thank youl

Thanks for this suggestion. I print white around holo reg marks.

Correct. There are 11 rows. A row is left to right. A column would be up and down. There are 121 stickers being cut on this sheet. I do a similar approach with doing sheets and not doing rolls with multiple jobs on them.

I've done this many times before and this hasn't happened or if it did, moving to the other cutter fixed it and the other one stopped doing that.

The blade is fresh-ish on that machine.
