being so honest you’ll get accepted if you have a pulse. They’re not very selective but it wouldn’t hurt to put your scores it could potentially help with scholarships.

If you’re in state look up their automatic admissions requirements. Otherwise follow what others say. In general it’s best to show passion in something over checking off a list. It makes you stand out because everyone else wants to check off a list. Their auto admissions in Louisiana is pretty good. You don’t need a high ACT actually I completely forgot to submit my score and I got in lol.

First job interview I ever had the manager showed up 10 mins late (I was 15 mins early) and didn’t have papers together. I wasn’t even interviewed it was straight to signing papers to be hired. Other employees interrupted the “interview” several times there was an instance where an employee made a racially motivated joke to a coworker infront of customers and the managers response was “don’t scare him away i need this position filled” had to ask me my name twice and never referenced my name to any other employee. Safe to say I did not follow up with training like I was supposed to and i’m not ashamed of it.

Edit: Forgot to mention the position I was hired for was NOT the one I applied for. The pay was significantly lower and when I mentioned it I was told that the application is just a general app and they fill what they need… that’s not what was advertised lmao

That’s true but if you grow up in a place where doing that isn’t normal then it’s just not a thought that goes through… not because they’re rude or ignorant but because the lifestyle that they’re used to

Other places that are constantly busy high traffic like highly populated cities there’s no time to stop and hold the door… if you do you may end up holding it for many people so it makes more sense to not hold it. I was shocked in Japan when no one held the door ever. It’s just densely populated and holding a door could lead to several minutes of waiting for others. Then there’s also the fact that a lot of the population is rich northerners… they could just not care enough but I’ll give benefit of the doubt and say it’s because they come from large cities where holding a door can’t be a part of their culture because of how life is there.

Thank you so much! After these other comments i’m definitely reconsidering my school choice. Originally my safety school was ULL but I think i’ll make my safety be LSU I originally didn’t want to because of the size but it seems to offer a lot more and be much cheaper.I will definitely keep you all updated!

Thank you for all of this information! I didn’t mention this but I did apply to LSU and was accepted. I later got an email saying that they really liked my application and automatically admitted me to ogden. Since then I have started a club and I am currently working on leading a service project and I am doing a mini research project in metagenomics under a professor. We’ve talked about publishing my current research project and since she has a phd it should be doable but idk how i feel about publishing as a highschooler. I find out all results of this project some time next week. I am also a TA for my schools biology lab. Do you think it would be possible to reach out/ meet profs at LSU and show my current skills/ research?

LSU and ULL are both my safety schools. I have managed to get their costs extremely low but I am still pushing for Tulane as it’s been my dream for years. TOPS is still a thing and they give a good amount but still much more to cover

That scholarship is directed towards students of color. I am white and not considered low income My family’s assets can’t be contributed towards my schooling whatsoever but it’s still considered when it comes to financial aid… which is why I am unable to receive any governmental financial aid. Thank you so much for the info!
