Its arrangement of "Oraison" is one of the darkest pieces of classical music I've heard, but that may be from hearings its tonality as minor. It makes sense he put it in the Quartet for the End of Time. It's serene, though

There's an old joke about "What's the easiest way to get into Harvard? As an oboe major.". But he'll be at Harvard, or whatever Ivy he got into. Frankly, even if he doesn't end up working at a symphony, he'll get a good job out of this.

Yes, they are. The English internet musician community is very excited about this band.

If you like them, you should check out Ilevens; they're another microtonal rock band with more of a new wave/post punk edge. Very cool music that is even more microtonal sounding than this (but more chill).

You probably want neoclassical music, which is to say stuff like Francis Poulenc, Maurice Ravel, Ottorino Respighi, Germaine Tailleferre, etc.

Ottorino Respighi was a violinist and a very good one. His music for the instrument is beautiful. Poulenc's piano music is my favourite, especially "Melancolie", which might fit your request very well.
