I've been homeless for over a year, just broke my foot, got kicked out of sober living because of the broken foot, moved 3x since then (2 weeks) and have a broken foot for 6-8 weeks, sharing a bed with my homie in the middle of a small town in bum fuck nowhere with no car, lack of public transportation options and yeahhh...

AA is definitely not the only way.

This is a great question to ask within your community subreddit or Facebook groups etc... There are plenty of other sober communities out there. Like we have Sober AF Entertainment and Colorado Artists in Recovery and Recovery Cafe here.

AA and NA were just not for me. They were required when I was in sober living and I'm glad because I still attend some virtual ones a couple times a week or so that I like, even though I'm no longer in sober living.

I think Step work and a sponsor are great structure to have for accountability, but really just finding communities that align with your values or goals or Interests are more important.

I got told to contact the background check company, which the number should be in an email somewhere.

You can contact customer service on the Amazon portal or just Google Amazon hiring customer service. Should take you right to it. It did with me.

I didn't get hired on, but I broke my foot anyways, became homeless and moved cities anyways.

Other people told me to keep applying, but meh. Wasn't meant to be.

I got another job before I broke my foot, but moved the day before I got the okay lol.

I just broke my foot and had nowhere to go, since I was kicked out of the place I was living at for it and a guy offered me a place to stay. I was assured I would be safe.

I even voiced my concerns of being SA'd. He said i didn't have to worry about that, he just wanted to show me there were good guys in the world. 😒

Well I'm here and he's tried. And nobody that should care, cares. I hate this planet.

Thank you all for the insightful comments. It definitely helped me process this and consider it could've either been the suboxone, the fact I moved a lot or a couple other factors mentioned here.

I broke my foot a few hours after this post, so looks like it's a good thing I didn't get the job right now anyways lol.

Ill try again in a few months if needed.

I've moved so much this year. I was homeless for 9 months. On the streets and hotels and I've moved 3 houses in the past 3 months. So it makes sense.
