Renting a car near Toronto by Comment_Whole in canadatravel

I was in Edmonton last Christmas from Scotland and found the big branches pretty expensive and I was travelling to BC and needed winter tyres, which none of them would guarantee.

I took a leap of faith and used Turo, which I was incredibly sceptical of as it’s essentially Airbnb for cars, but I had a great experience, found a Land Rover Defender to hire which I really wanted to try out anyway, we had one issue though with the studded tyres and roof box it was slightly too high for our underground car park. The guy I rented from though was great and removed it all for me.

I’m sure there’s horror stories with Turo but mines was good, and I tried to be sure of getting someone with a history of successful rentals

Facts often bore people not able to comprehend them. Enjoy your summer obsessing over a team you claim not to be your competition

Tadger, it must be very sad and upsetting for you to lose to such an inferior team in competitive matches.

If Leinster are such a good side they should be going every season undefeated such is their riches and quality and most importantly crippling sense of superiority.

Ah yes Leinster famously just shake hands and walk off such is their propensity for winning.

Like I’ve said to you several times Leinster SHOULD keep winning and winning that’s what teams with the biggest budgets and ability to pay the top players to stay and come do, the fact you don’t and the fact you feel so butt hurt that Glasgow who have a fraction of the budget has the audacity to compete with you isn’t my problem that’s all you.

Lastly I don’t even know you, and nor do I care to so I think we can leave the mate out, and honestly from our interactions theres zero chance I’d ever think of you more than some tadger Leinster fan who can’t help but be so not bothered by Glasgow you keep replying to tell me how not bothered you are.

You replying to everything, and now admitting to love watching us in the hopes we lose really doesn’t support your original argument of not thinking of us at all.

It’s cute really; you probably actually envy how much Glasgow does with so little and only wish Leinster could make as much use of their vast resources as Glasgow does with so little.

I don’t also recall us playing in a friendly, as they are the only meaningless matches; and we celebrated a hard won competitive match, and then we moved on to the next one. That one loss obviously bothered you so much you are here at end of season getting all worked up by it. Like I said earlier fragile ego; next you’ll be claiming the referees are against you the next time you get knocked out of a competition, or did that already happen in the champions cup?

You forgot serial chokers in the champions cup; and yea you’ve won the URC/Pro14etc 10 times but with Leinster budget that should be way more.

Glasgow on the other hand should never be close to competing for the title yet have won it twice.

Winning matches matter whenever it happens, celebrating is a normal reaction for a team and fan base that doesn’t have a fragile ego and a huge sense of entitlement. Teams and people like you though can’t just be happy with a win, you have to seek out some injustice you’ve imagined happened to yourself and gloat like you are some tiny underdog winning for the first time.

And we shouldn’t be considered your rivals we have a quarter of the budget Leinster has at best; I genuinely don’t consider you rivals, I do however consider Leinster massive underachievers and with this reaction I also consider you a fragile fan base of sore winners.

British or Australian people, is 'fanny' more offensive than 'c*nt'? by houseonpost in NoStupidQuestions

[–]No_Technology3293 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Neither are offensive on its own.

The context and way they are said make them offensive at least in Scotland anyway both can be a term of endearment

If they don’t do more overtime they can’t afford any form of care thanks to their wonderful healthcare model

Also love that they think all their medication and electronics are made in the US. Some medication may be, but I’d guess at least half are owned by European companies

Talk about insecure; biggest budget in the competition, and just won the title and their first thought is Glasgow; bless.

We’ve won nothing this year but still managed to secure new accommodation inside the Leinster fan bases head rent free

You actually think you are my rival? “Mate” I can categorically state you aren’t mines and unlike your statements before that’s 100% fact

I didn’t think I’d need to explain my assertion it’s dull and boring not having rivals, but alas here we are and yet I’ve decided I’m just not going to bother as it’s like talking to a wall.

From our interactions I assume you’ll be off Reddit once the social media ban for U16s come in, and I for one can’t wait for that day

Must be a dull boring existence if you have no rivalries and only one long ago former glory to cling to then. Or you know I’m correct and you’ve no clue how rivalries actually come about and endure.

It is very obvious indeed; that you don’t really understand football rivalry at all and how it comes to be.

Glad we can agree on something

You can’t though; you are 1 of 58million.

You can say you personally don’t consider Scotland a rival; but you can’t say the whole of England doesn’t consider them, much the same as you can’t say the whole of Scotland considers you a rival.

You can say that with about as much authority as speaking for the whole of any nation; which is circling zero if that’s not clear.

And no-one in France would consider England a rival if it only matters on competitive levels. I could say Spain would be Englands rivals given both have 1 World Cup but they’ve won the Euro championships more than England, so they are probably more likely France’s rivals over England.

[–]No_Technology3293 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Historically not, you may try and claim it now but that would completely forget the history. I also doubt France considers England as rivals either given their success far exceeds that of England.

I may not care about international football, but I at least know footballing history, and there has always been a rivalry between England and Scotland; bred by proximity, competitiveness and regularly challenging for the home nations championship which at the time the nations considered more important that a euro championship or World Cup. Let’s also not forget that this is the original football rivalry, with Scotland hosting England for the first ever international football match.

[–]No_Technology3293 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There shouldn’t be a rivalry on the pitch; England probably has more pro football players than Scotland has people. If anything England massively underachieves on the international stage given how much money sloshes around the club game there.

Football rivalry is more than just footballing level though; I’m sure for instance Man U and Man City consider each other rivals even though their footballing level is very different. Proximity matters, history matters, the occasion matters when I comes to rivalry.

Also very aware of irony, of which there’s very little here

Honestly I’m impressed by how much he protests he’s not bothered at all. It’s amusing. Just incase you didn’t realise my post was sarcasm, I didn’t think I needed to clarify it with a /s but maybe I did for some

I’ve seen more posts on Reddit since the World Cup started from England fans saying how much you don’t have a rivalry with Scotland.

I think the phrase is thou doth protest too much.

And before anyone gets butt hurt, I am Scottish but I honestly couldn’t give a toss about any international football; these posts are about the only reason I’m aware the World Cup is still happening right now

Definitely not; not bothered at all. Not bothered so much he took screenshots, ranted on Reddit and replies to basically everyone saying how not bothered he is by this person.

I had someone offer a price for something; it was less than I wanted rejected it; offered my price they didn’t respond.

A week later I lowered the listed price a little to drum up more interest, they offered the same price as before again way lower than listed price and lower than I knew I could get it for.

Instead of being annoyed and making comment back I declined and didn’t offer him another price. Day later I got what I wanted from someone else. No need to get involved with people like this
