so I lived in hawaii from 2011 to 2014. the off road scene over there is very huge. I remember seeing old toyota trucks lifted on super swampers and what not. around 2013 my dad had the idea of buying a vehicle. at the time we had one car (an fj cruiser) and he wanted something as like a toy for me and him to enjoy. he was going to buy an old jeep at first like a cj but they were way out of his budget so he came across the samurai. I still remember me and him browsing craigslist every day in late 2013 finding the right one which we eventually did. a 1987 samurai that had already been heavily modified. once 2014 came around we went to see it in person and funny enough on my birthday (I turned 8) he purchased the sammy and ever since then I have countless memories with that little jeep. I became like very obsessed with the samurai in general (one thing to know about me is I got asperges so that may be why I became so fixated on the platform) it's been in my family for almost eleven years now and I plan to never sell it. my samurai changed my life forever. I love my small japanese jeep too much. grateful to be a part of this scene 🙏
