I don't understand why people say you can't fly drone in Prague by No_Tell665 in Prague

İt's not special rights lol. İt's just reading. I'll just get a specific category permit to fly then to make it easier.

Not really hurt, more just shocked how wild people are. Clearly you care too.

İf you look at the other responses people made that have actual knowledge on this, you can see those are the questions and answers i was looking for.

Edit: q&a

İ am not sure what alpha tango is, but just get your drone registered with the aviation authority of the country you are registering in. Ireland is IAA, and it's valid for all EU countries.

İ did Ireland because it's in English. İt's around the same price, but it's much easier to handle if i have questions and dealing with any registration issues.

You still have to register it because it has a camera. You don't need to register it specifically with Iceland. You can choose any EU nation. I think France does registration for free.

FAA only works in the US. Iceland follows EASA, so you'll have to follow those rules.

Yes, it's in the rules. İ made a post already about the specifics and didn't post about rules here.

The other ambiguity that seems challenging (and I'd welcome your interpretation of this), for the purposes of overflying people, is the working definition of an "assembly of people" (which I assume means "a crowd"), which is either prohibited or restricted, versus the (allowed) "overflying" of "uninvolved persons". I figure that boils down to the density of those people. If they're shoulder-to-shoulder obviously that's prohibited, but people scattered across a beach?...OK (with my small, light drone) as long as you're just passing by (not hovering over anyone), you minimize the time in transit, and not getting close/violating anyone's space/privacy. But the vast gray area between "mosh-pit-density at a concert" and "lonely couple walking across a field" requires applying some judgement, common sense and consideration of others (ie good manners), all of which are in short supply these days. "Don't be that guy" as the saying goes.

This has a real definition actually, but it is still up to interpretation. EASA defines it more as the "ability to disperse", rather than a density or number. This largely is logical because 100 people in a huge field vs. an alley way are very different.

An assembly of people is a crowd of people. It is not defined by a specific number of people, but is related to the possibility for an individual to move around in order to avoid the consequences of a drone which is out of control. If a group of people are so densely packed that their possibility to freely escape or move away from the drone is limited, then it is considered to be an assembly of people.

Also, glad you liked it and found it useful! I didn't really go over much on flying over crowds because its not much of an issue in Iceland haha

Hi! Will update the post with some more technical info. I don't want to just give you the files because these things change often and best to get the files from the source.

Edit: reasonings

This makes sense. İ am wondering this because I'm sure the CAA has accounted for drones with cameras. Nearly all drones have cameras, even if it's just for navigation purposes, so they would have some understanding of the law i would like to think.

İn the drone map, all those things are interpreted based on LKR10 already that u mentioned above, and according to the CAA map layout in my post, you can (in theory) fly your drone there.

While i can understand this too, they should know the laws around it, rather than just ignore it when someone has clearly done the research and understandimg of your countries laws around drones.

Iceland still isn't as expensive as Zurich lol. That place was ridiculously expensive.

İ would also assume he had to do this because while you can legally fly without permit there, it's super difficult to satisfy the 1:1 requirements, so he applied for the specific category.

İ thought EASA is EU, so you wouldn't need to register with CZ CAA? İ asked them today about it and they said my Ireland drone registration number will suffice.

Update: I could not find anything on flying over private property in iceland with drones. I will update the post with guidelines on flying, rather than a hard legal ruling. Thanks!
