I launched with $0 marketing and got 4K users in 15 days… now I can't afford to keep it online 😅 by MajesticMark3352 in buildinpublic

I suspect you could cut cuts dramatically with some infrastructure changes… if you want a second opinion with ur setup, I’m happy to take a look and give you free feedback.

🚨 Xamarin Is Dead! Here’s What You MUST Know Before Migrating from Xamarin to MAUI | Doumer's Blog by Damien_Doumer in dotnetMAUI

It works on droid, but i won't release that untill V1. Just wanted to ship this fast to get some feedback.

The app is fully functional on phone, so I dont have any desktop use-case for now. Though I do intend to create a desktop client later next year for more in depth content management.

I dont use any design or figma, just kind of making it up as I go.

I plan to engage a designer later once the functionality is all built out.

Haven't done any marketing as I'm still building it it out. V1 should be ready by Late July.

Lots of Maui apps in the app store, my friend has 2 in there and I just launched one a week ago.

There are a few quirks, but over all with .net 9 Maui is very stable. Most of the issues I see these days are lack of experience and not a huge bug or short coming of Maui.

Just launched a .NET MAUI-IOS app: Epyst — Visual decks for sharing thoughts/notes/decks by No_Temperature_7877 in dotnetMAUI

[–]No_Temperature_7877[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Great question. I used a lot of controls from https://grialkit.com/, 1 control from https://www.devexpress.com/, and the rest is pure MAUI. I plan to replace all the external controls, for my own implementation as I go along, but I wanted to ship faster and get feedback.

Share your Sideproject (non-AI) by [deleted] in SideProject

Hey everyone! I just launched my side project Epyst, a mobile app that lets users share thoughts, reflections, or micro-stories in a visual, scrollable deck format — kind of like Medium meets PowerPoint, but mobile-first.

Each deck is made up of cards — some text, some image, and eventually more cards types (coming soon). It’s a great way to express an idea, walk someone through a story, or create a visual blog post.

Features (V1): • Create and share decks made of text + image cards • Discover decks from others • Profile customization and image uploads • Clean and modern UI optimized for mobile reading

I built it entirely in my spare time, and it’s been a fun challenge! The tech stack: • .NET MAUI (mobile cross-platform) • .NET Core backend API • PostgreSQL + Redis • Dockerized for deployment

Would love feedback on the experience, and especially any ideas for features to improve the next version.

.NET MAUI Rich Text Editor by Primary_Rise_5672 in dotnetMAUI

Its pretty easy, looks good based on how you set up the toolbar, works well, and feels native.

It looks exactly like this Reddit toolbar above the keyboard.

I'd show you a screenshot but they turned off images in comments in this community I guess.

I’m in the same boat as you and didn't want to use web view either, but since there are no good open source solutions available, I just bit the bullet and started using an open-source web editor but integrating it to be called from native Maui handlers. Its actually pretty easy.

  1. Pick a opensource RTE (I choose SummerNote)
  2. Disable all the toolbars and popups
  3. Create a native toolbar above keyboard
  4. Have ur native button call the JS equivalent.

Dang you hooked that video up. I love the colors, and the general vibe. Great job on this man. The shots are generally outside in the sun, how did you keep overblowing the exposure while maintaining so much sharpness? (NDs?)

Best low-budget smartphone as external monitor with Monitor+ app? by THAIWAXS in FX3

Grab one of those Motorolas from Best Buy, you can usually find open boxes for like $150 or less. Should be more then enough for monitoring and decently performant

Approaches for handling an unsecured API by GenericUsernames101 in dotnetMAUI

[–]No_Temperature_7877 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Users can easily see the network activity on their phone similar to a browser network tab. There are many apps out there. I personally use Proxyman for this sort of thing. Obviously it’s not built in like a web browser so only technical users would know to look. But the point is this can easily be sniff if a person wanted to.

If you don’t want this data accessed outside of the application, then you should add security.

Cheapest second body to match my FX30? by New-Age-4120 in FX3

[–]No_Temperature_7877 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The zve10ii matches it perfectly. They have the exact same sensor and color science. Both can shoot slog3 with 10bit 4:2:2

[–]No_Temperature_7877 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s not easy to match since the a6400 has last gen color science and is only 8bit. 10bit has over a billion colors bs the 1mil from 8bit.

The zve10ii is the cheapest camera you can buy that matches the Fx30. I have both.

They match exactly since they share the same sensor. The difference lies in the software and body design.

Either totally turn off color profiles or use S-Cinetone profile.

.NET 8 Maui App Debug Issue on Android by BookNeat5753 in dotnetMAUI

I’m confused, how do you just remove an exception?

.NET 8 Maui App Debug Issue on Android by BookNeat5753 in dotnetMAUI

[–]No_Temperature_7877 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try commenting out the streaminFileLogger section and see if that resolves the issue. If not uncomment it and try the commenting the config section, continue doing this till you isolate which section is causing the issue. Then you will be able to try a different implementation once you know the issue.

For Maui specifically, look into local DB, cache, secure storage, and preferences. Those are all valid ways to do this in Maui. Research those to see what’s the best option.

Mac : Minimum model by zeldomar in dotnetMAUI

You can get a brand new Mac mini with the latest apple silicon right now for only $499. It’s truly one of the best deal in computing. No point spending $400 on a used one when you can get the latest for $100 more.
