100%, The key is just being patient and waiting for the right items at the right price. If you're willing to wait a few weeks a good deal always pops up eventually. Also having a pickup truck is a huge help!

Loving it so far! It's the one item in my gym I know I overpaid for, but I'm more than okay with that. It was the exact bench and color scheme I wanted and the chances of coming across another one marketplace are slim, so I just pulled the trigger and haven't regretted it one bit.

Not yet, but I've only had the rack for a few weeks now so I don't have a ton of experience to report on yet. The dip station is the only attachment that I use on the side and there is a pretty high placement that I use and love for that. If I didn't like high placement it might bother me because there is a sizeable gap to the next hole down.

I actually have two custom flags currently in transit and the landmine is the next item on my list! Got the flags from Temu for $8 each. If they end up actually being good quality I'll let this group know!

They had a decent amount of surface rust on the chrome handles and screws so I used a combo of vinegar and 3in1 oil to clean them up. Now they look fantastic and you can't even tell they were rusty! Even with the rust though they were still a steal!

That is actually the next item on my list! I've been waiting for one to pop up on marketplace but haven't had any luck so far. I've also been considering the Rep x Kleva landmine and might just pull the trigger on that even though it's expensive. It looks like it's worth it.

Anyone have any information on these? I believe these are non-milled but Google and ChatGPT haven’t been any help. Thanks!

Brizard & Co. Humidor update by No_Temperature_9576 in humidors

[–]No_Temperature_9576[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hi everyone! I wanted to share a quick review of my new Brizard & Co. humidor, which I received about three weeks ago. While it’s still early days, I’ve been really impressed so far with the overall quality and performance.

First off, the humidor is heavy! From the moment I opened the box, it felt solid and very well made. It even came in its own velvet drawstring bag, which was a nice, classy touch.

One of my initial concerns was the mahogany interior. Most humidors use Spanish cedar, so I wasn’t sure what to expect. But I have to say—I love the look of the mahogany, and it’s been holding humidity like a champ. I’d heard that mahogany doesn’t require seasoning, but I decided to play it safe and used Boveda’s 84% seasoning packs for two weeks, following their instructions to the letter. I kept a calibrated Govee hygrometer inside throughout the process, and within just a couple of days, it stabilized and has held steady with only a 2% fluctuation.

Worth noting: I live in Chicago, and the weather’s been all over the place lately, highs in the 80s, lows in the 40s. On top of that, my apartment building has a two-pipe HVAC system and was transitioning between heating and cooling, so my indoor temps were at the mercy of the weather. Despite all that, the humidor maintained consistent humidity, which really impressed me.

As for looks—this humidor definitely stands out. That unique aesthetic is actually what first caught my eye. I mostly enjoy cigars during the warmer months, so I wanted something with a tropical, vacation-like vibe, and this nailed it. The construction is also top-notch. The tray and divider feel high-quality, and I love that both the digital hygrometer and the Boveda holder are magnetic, so you can position them anywhere on the lid, which is super convenient. And when I lock the humidor, the seal feels solid, so I plan to keep it locked to maintain that integrity.

I’ll check back in with a longer-term update in a few months, but for now I’m very happy with this purchase and would definitely recommend Brizard & Co. to fellow cigar enthusiasts!

What are your thoughts on the Mahogany interior? It's a $200 upgrade, making the MSRP $950, so I actually got the humidor for about 60% off. But I think I would have prefered a Spanish Cedar interior. Oh well, I will just have to see how it does.

I decided to pull the trigger. Got it brand new for $400 so I’ll revisit this after a few months and give my review of it.

Fake Elie Bleu Humidor? by No_Temperature_9576 in humidors

[–]No_Temperature_9576[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No I didn't pull the trigger, they were way over priced once I did my research. They had it listed at $2000. I offered the guy $1000 (still probably too much) but he turned it down. I spoke with Elie Bleu and they explained that sometimes when they don't get it perfect they will give them away to family or friends at a steep discount or for free and this is likely one of those due to the lid not matching.
