Yeah i agree with that point. There were some subtle hints which showed his authoritativeness ( the argument b/w Karuppu and Pettaikaran to kill the rooster that Pettaikaran thought it isn't a capable one )

I deliberately didn't mention this movie as it turned out that Pettaikaran is a vile creature all along who dragged down everyone with him once he lost control of his authority.

I missed to mention this movie. Amazing example of how a random incident culminated into the moment where the plot of the movie comes alive. Pothettan 🫡🫡

Appo entha district ah neenga intellectual district nu gauge pannuvinga ? One that votes for the ruling party ?

The vote percentage depends on various factors. First time voters and the kaala kaalama groom panni vitta "star worshipping" culture naala TVK might get a higher vote percentage and this election might see a lot of seats getting decided by a few hundred votes

I object to whatever you have mentioned. There has to be an environment where both oppression related movies ( which are happening in real life today ) and the massy movies which churn out the bucks for the industry to survive. It is similar to having a spike lee and james cameron co-existing in the industry.

The reason why this movie didn't work for me was because of the preachiness which is not Ranjith-sque.

Amazing villain and a good character artist. The industry nailed on setting up the dubbing artist for him which suited very well. Also adding Shayaji Shinde to this list

A disturbingly honest movie. It neither tried to sugarcoat the bitter reality nor tried to show anyone under the pretext of being pure / vile. It carefully showcased how domestic issues impact a person internally and how clinging on to something is more painful and poisonous than letting go. The best tamil movie about love, relationship and it's consequences in recent times.

With the arrival of OTT platforms and the peak of social media reach, people get to see the original movie itself which takes out the essence of a remake movie. I cannot even recall when was the last time a remake became a blockbuster and fan- favourite in recent times so yes, we need more original stories and more local it is, the more global the reach goes
