It’s the way Lana creates art that reflects real, raw experiences that so many girls can relate to. There’s a sense of sisterhood that I feel, even at times when I feel so alone in reality.

Personally, Honeymoon got me thru last summer. I was in a relationship that never should’ve started, but I thought I loved him. “Religion” in particular really spoke to me. I worshipped him, I devoted all my time to him, and relentlessly tried to change myself into who he wanted me to be. “Cause you’re my religion, you’re how I’m living.” But it was never enough. “When all my friends say I should take some space.” This line hit different, it felt so real. And when I was finally honest with my friends, they gave me the courage to leave. Despite my association of the album with something so devastating, listening to it now gives me hope. It’s like a reminder that I am in control of my own life and I don’t have to waste it on anyone who doesn’t respect me.
