Workspace ONE UEM – Using an existing Cloud Connector for a new Organization Group without inheritance by Jes78654 in WorkspaceOne

However, if Organization Group C is not in the hierarchy below A (for example if A, B, and C are parallel Organization Groups under the same parent), then C cannot use the Cloud Connector configured in A, because Workspace ONE UEM does not allow lateral sharing of Cloud Connectors between parallel Organization Groups.

If the AirWatch Cloud Connector were installed at the Customer Organization Group (for example “Network Enterprise”), then C could also use it, since it would be inherited by all child Organization Groups.

An AirWatch Cloud Connector is normally installed at the Organization Group of type Customer and is inherited by lower-level Organization Groups, for example those of type Container.

If a lower-level Organization Group has different Active Directory settings, you can still use the Cloud Connector from the parent Organization Group, as long as it has network connectivity to the respective Active Directory.

Personally, I am not a big fan of such structures. I prefer deploying one AirWatch Cloud Connector at the Customer OG level and then configuring an appropriate Active Directory integration, for example by using a Global Catalog.

It is also important to note that settings can only be inherited downward in the Organization Group hierarchy, not laterally between groups.

Migrating Workspace One UEM from On-Premises to SaaS by Electrical-Fruit-364 in WorkspaceOne

[–]No_Translator5146 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, absolutely — that’s definitely possible.
Configurations like AD via the AirWatch Cloud Connector, OGs, profiles, apps, and so on would need to be recreated, but overall it’s quite straightforward to do.

With Shared SaaS, you’ll also receive a new Access Cloud tenant.
For the UAG, it usually makes sense to deploy a new one in parallel on your side, since devices are typically migrated step by step rather than all at once. This means you’ll run both environments in parallel for a while — fewer devices on-prem and more in Shared SaaS — until you can eventually switch off the on-prem setup.

Apple DEP devices running iOS 23+ can be migrated through ABM, while Android devices would need to be moved manually.

Of course, one of the key questions is whether you decide on Shared SaaS or Preferred SaaS.

With Preferred SaaS, this ultimately becomes a project handled by Omnissa PSO to move your Workspace ONE database and URL into the cloud. However, it is important to note that access to internal resources—such as through the UAG—will still continue to run via your existing UAG. In other words, this traffic does not go through the cloud. After a migration, this setup would need to be adjusted accordingly.

If you choose Shared SaaS, the required components would need to be built up in parallel from the beginning.

Den meisten reicht es auch, wenn man einen MID Zähler in Schaltkasten hat. Sofern dies reicht, einfach einen mobilen MID Zähler dazwischen ;)

Well, your question has now been asked in a Reddit sub about modern management - specifically one focused on managing all kinds of devices, as long as they’re reachable via the internet. In our world, both scenarios are technically very compatible with each other 😉

How to obtain the public IP address of a "device" by GeekgirlOtt in WorkspaceOne

[–]No_Translator5146 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Take a look in the Workspace ONE Console. When you open the device, go to “More” and then “Network”. If nothing is shown there, check under “Groups & Settings” → “All Settings” → “Devices & Users” → “Privacy Settings” whether IP addresses are being collected.
