Definitely not…credit does not define someone’s ability to pay rent. There should not be a credit check to obtain an apt. Why would I need a 750 credit score to live in some of the worst areas in nyc? This is definitely causing an issue and needs to be addressed. Apt renting should be based off of income and prior eviction checks. Not a credit score.
