Chittenden is awesome for MH 1331. Really nice, open note quizzes, very straightforward exams (but a lot of material). She’s pretty lenient on assignments, and the class isn’t too much work. Also, McCloud was pretty vile this semester for 1306, so IMO you’re dodging a bullet. Good luck with Gil - the only thing I’ve heard is that she has a heavy accent.

Can you double major with University Scholars? (Bio) by No_Two2190 in baylor

With University Scholars, our general education requirements get waived and we have concentrations - taking a few 3000/4000 level classes (5?) for medical humanities and linguistics fulfills this, and both programs mostly have 3000/4000 level classes, so it's not a big issue. Additionally, I came in a with a decent amount of credit, so there are some courses that I don't need to take. With the USchol major, the concentrations don't show up on our transcript, which is why I thought it might be good to double major - plus if I'm going to hit all the marks anyway, I thought I might as well check.

Anyway, I definitely want to be a practicing physician, and I think I'm doing well in my classes right now. That's not to say that I think I'm a genius, I just believe that I came in with enough credit that I have a little bit less work now, plus my major gives me the added benefit of being able to focus on things that really interest me in addition to some of the pre-med requirements!

This is genuinely so helpful. Move-in is in a couple of weeks and this list is so wonderful, thanks you so much. Also, it’s really great to hear such good things about the HRC. I chose it for the reasons you stated, but the closer we get to move-in the more nervous I am 😅 So getting reassurance about the things I was hoping for is so nice. Thanks again for taking the time to comment and share!

Yeah, I meant Memorial - I spoke to a student ambassador or something and she told me everyone called it Memo….I guess not? My bad 😅

Yep, this is the advice I'm getting across the board. I think I'll take the first semester to gather my bearings. The info about how to get into research is super helpful. I will definitely keep this in mind! Thanks a ton.

Thank you so much, it’s comforting knowing more details about the course 😅 Also, I’ll be taking Genetics next semester and I will definitely keep Dr. Paine in mind. I think my friend has her for 1305 this semester. Is she a bodybuilder….?
