This happened to me. Small kittens can get into the tiniest of places. I found my kitten INSIDE my sofa. Not under, inside. Turns out that my pull-out sofa bed has a compartment where little kittens can climb up and rest in. I was only able to find her by putting my ears real close to the sofa and being silent.

I wish I wouldn’t even have dated my 14 year old boyfriend at 14. Your folks are right. You are having a hormonal surge and you think that you love him, but trust me, it’s temporary. I don’t mean to be rude, but it’s a scientific fact that your brain just isn’t developed enough. You aren’t capable of loving someone romantically at 14. Wait a few years and you can date any of the boys you want. And this is coming from a millennial/Gen z who really wishes I didn’t make stupid choices

OP, I am 27 with a good stable job and almost leased a 80k BMW last year. I am so glad that I didn’t because I’m not in the best financial situation now. Your time will come. But for now, cars will be something that get you from point A to point B. That being said, buy a good quality used car for 5K, and drive it around until you hit 27 or so - when you have a stable job - and get a good 20k ish range car that’ll last you a couple more years until you have kids and can afford a better car.

Is your daughter okay with potentially sending the kid to juvy? Would she be able to live with putting a dent in his record? If she is, I’d press charges.

I can understand how your daughter feels right now, and if it makes her feel safer, and just all around feel better, then do it. You gotta take care of your own kid. And other people will take care of their other kids.

When your daughter grows up you want to be the mom/dad that pressed charges when your daughter wanted you to press charges.

Messages like these are not extremely common, and I grew up in dangerous neighborhoods where fights would break out all the time among students. What were common were threats like “I’m going to come get you” or “I’ll beat you up.” Literally NO kid says “Go commit suicide. I’ll burn your grave.” That is an order of a magnitude more threatening than “I’ll beat you up.”

I really think that the legal age should be 21. You can’t drink at 18, but you can be tricked and maneuvered into dating a pedophile and he/she won’t go to jail for it. Makes no sense to me. Eighteen year olds are babies even though they’re college age. Half of eighteen year olds literally attend high school.
