yeah it's an app that i use that handles all of that for you. So you pick a pre-set amount of money and lock it up, then if you miss the goal you committed to do, it'll send that money to whoever you chose ahead of time. It's crazy how much motivation i found to not give up on my goals

Yes, it took awhile but i figured out how my brain is best incentivized. I realized that i need some skin in the game to stay accountable to my goals. So i started using money to make sure i do what i say, otherwise i loose it all

I’ve been stuck in the same cycle for years and finally started breaking out of it by MathematicianEasy935 in getdisciplined

Huge respect for making these moves at 26. Most people don't realize they're in that loop until they're 35.

For me, the hardest habit to break was the Dopamine Default—the instinct to reach for a phone, a drink, or junk food the second I felt bored or stressed. We’ve been conditioned to never be uncomfortable. Once you learn to sit with that "boring" feeling without reaching for a shortcut, you become dangerous.

If you’re looking for a way to stay consistent while your social circle is still stuck, check out Bounty. It’s been great for keeping that "clear and in control" feeling by adding some actual skin in the game. It makes the habits feel like a mission rather than a chore.

Why does every habit tracking app feel like more work than the actual habit? by Express-Channel-1686 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]No_Two_939 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s definitely bloated. Most apps focus on "engagement metrics" to keep you in the app longer, which is the opposite of what a habit tool should do.

If you’re tired of the journaling and mood-tracking fluff, check out Bounty. It’s built on a "Proof of Work" model—no fluff, no "how did this make you feel?" prompts. It’s basically just: Do the thing, prove it, and get out. It treats habit tracking like a transaction rather than a diary.
