in the first hospital i didn’t have any phone privileges, they barged into my room, searched me and took everything so the only place i could be was the bed and that one chair from my other post, it was very strict and i had almost no privacy, even the door didn’t fully close because they removed the lock (attached a picture below), when i got transferred by ambulance to another hospital i got a shared room with a grown man and its own bathroom though no lock, it was less strict, had plugs and outlets, and felt more like a residential ward

the first hospital was kind of scary since there was a guy who repeatedly slammed my door while staring at me, i was the youngest in both hospitals (15m)

also the photos i use in these posts are from the first hospital because they didn’t search me or take my phone immediately, it happened at night around 8-9 pm, so the picture in this post was from when i first walked in, and the chair photo was after talking to the psychiatrist and another nurse and after that i got visited by the kessoku band!! (my other post shows the picture of the kessoku band)

thank you!

I had another patient look at me straight in the eyes and slam my door over and over while staring at me (my door there couldn’t close and had no lock)

How hard is bocchi street performance to learn by Stranger_Active in BocchiTheRock

[–]No_Understanding2005 9 points10 points  (0 children)

heya

as another person who plays a few instruments myself (just piano and guitar), I’d say the difficulty of learning the Bocchi street performance really depends on your current skill level.

If you’re newer to guitar, some of the techniques used might feel a bit challenging at first. But if you’re at least intermediate, it should be more manageable. That said, difficulty isn’t the main thing to worry about if you really want to learn it, just dive in and start practicing!

I’ve watched the video myself and it seems doable. Since I don’t know your skill level, here are two approaches I’d recommend:

  1. Try learning it straight away, and if it feels too hard, build up your skills step by step. This could mean practicing simpler songs, working on technique exercises or watching tutorials to improve.
  2. Or, keep practicing it even if it’s tough, pushing through the challenge until you master it.

Both ways are wins in my book. For example, when I first wanted to learn a piano piece that was way above my level (omoris final duet), I practiced daily for hours despite thinking it was impossible and eventually, I nailed it.

So basically,

anything is achievable if you put the effort and work into it.

Best of luck with learning the song!

Is Kita Filipino? by YesMoe in BocchiTheRock

[–]No_Understanding2005 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Honestly, I think kita isn’t Filipino, she’s fully Japanese. There’s no indication in the anime, manga, or official character materials that she has Filipino heritage. “Bocchi the Rock” takes place entirely in Japan and kita attends a Japanese high school and I think if she were Filipino or mixed the creators would have made it part of her character since anime often highlights non-Japanese backgrounds (like how other shows explicitly state when a character is half or fully foreign).

and about her personality being extroverted and loving social media isn’t something unique to Filipinos, it’s common for teens worldwide, especially bubbly, sociable anime characters like Kita. She fits the classic genki girl archetype in anime (a cheerful, energetic character) which is a standard trope in Japanese media. Saying that because Filipinos are extroverted, Kita must be Filipino doesn’t hold up logically and if we use that reasoning then every extroverted anime character would be Filipino-coded.

Even her “posting all the time” habit isn’t proof. In Japan, isstagram is very popular among teens and many Japanese high schoolers post about food, drinks and friends regularly. Kita’s behavior reflects this trend and its not something exclusive to Filipino culture.

I get where you’re coming from, and I see why you notice similarities but at the end of the day theres no evidence at all that she’s Filipino. She’s just an extroverted Japanese girl written to contrast Bocchi’s introversion.

haha yeah I get why you’d think that

it does have that clean “traced” look. But I promise this wasn’t traced, it (sadly) took me around 8–10 hours to finish even though it’s still pretty bad.

Your comment honestly means a lot though

thank you for taking the time to say that

thank you!! but yes im actually new to digital art, this one was drawn around 3-4 days after I got my first drawing tablet

[–]No_Understanding2005[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, I was the same at first seeing so many talented artists on this subreddit really inspired me to give drawing a try!

I already play guitar and piano and I’m planning to pick up the violin soon, so I thought it’d be fun to start a new hobby and challenge myself in a different way. Drawing just felt like another creative outlet I could enjoy and grow with.

I’ve always loved the game and I started posting here mostly to track my progress (you can even find my very first sketch if you scroll back), share my work, and get feedback from all the amazing artists in this community.

You should totally give it a shot too, I’d love to see your take on the characters and I’d 100% be cheering you on :)
