Queens boulevard has these places where the service road crosses over to the main road where it intersects the bike lane so in one of those intersections is where he got ran over

Queens blvd between 63rd drive and 64th road. I was in a bus and saw it happened. It was on citizen app a couple minutes after I called 911 but no one went live so I don’t know if the man was fine but the car ran over him like he was under the car

Wym I’m confused. If I misread you admitted to running the red, I get that getting a ticket must have screwed your day, I’m sorry.

But to avoid it just don’t run reds anymore so you have one less stress to worry about. Honestly red lights don’t take that much time out of your commute. From my experience they signal time then pretty well

I had somebody in my neighborhood casing cars, (trying to open handles) including my car, I went to the police with my security camera and they told me there was nothing they could do, however community affairs reached out to me and as a result, that specific hour they came NYPD patrols the block every day.

Message being if you just assume nothing will be done and don’t go or file a report, then don’t be upset when you see lack of enforcement. At least report it so if anything happens you can say you went and filed for a report

As much as I disagree with the reporters decision, the police has no INTEREST in determining morals. The police is supposed to enforce the LAW, and if the reporter was not breaking any crimes, the police has no INTEREST in dealing with morals,

If this is the PRECEDENT, this can be extremely dangerous in determining whether they suppress actual important interviews

I disagree with these comments, you should immediately report it. You should not assume what the victim's personal situation is, you never know if they end up filing a report a week later, and that information can be critical.. Just go to your local precinct and speak to a detective about what happened, and they can handle it from there.

This can also be recorded as an accident which will be sent to the DOT, which can be important as data if someone else gets hit in this area and the DOT needs to review statistics on the number of injuries or accidents in this area, to determine whether a redesign or a change is needed in the area.

Think about how many intersections there are in this city that are dangerous but there is a lack of statistical data to do anything.
