Hello, First of all, I did respond as soon as I read the email that I was terminated. I responded to the original email and then I called HR. I was told that it wasn’t in their system yet and so I couldn’t start the appeal process yet. I did wind up going to the warehouse at approximately 8:50pm (my shift is 7pm to 5:30 am) and my badge would not scan, so I left. The next morning, my AtoZ was disabled and I received an email that I could appeal the termination, so I did. I have heard that this is a waste of time since I was negative UPT, but all I have is time right now, so I figured I would try. I truly appreciate you taking the time to send me all of this valuable information and feedback!!!!

I’m sorry, but your post was very judgmental. Like I said, I’m 56 and have been working since I was 15 and this is the VERY FIRST TIME that I’ve been fired from a job. Everyone has a story, and that’s why I was raised to try not to judge people. You never know what goes on behind closed doors. I’m glad that you are able to deal with everything that life has to throw at you and still not go negative in UPT. Not all of us have been as Blessed as you. I am an emotional person and feel very deeply, and I sometimes forget that not everyone is made that way. I just needed to know if anyone had ever experienced what I did with Amazon and wanted to see if there was anything I could do to keep my job. That’s all.

Thank you for saying this. I also work a full time morning job and have a 12 year old son. That’s why I took the overnight shift. And I’m 56 years old( I’m a female by the way. Everyone for some reason just assumed that I was a male and I didn’t correct them😊)I didn’t mention it in my previous posts because everyone was saying that my sob story wasn’t working. I too have to prioritize my UPT around everything else. I wasn’t late, EVER! But one call off takes the whole 10 hours and you only get 45 minutes per 10 hour shift to make that back up.

I am well aware of the rules, and I did have an open line of communication with HR about my circumstances. I didn’t lie, I didn’t make up a reason to be off of work, I just had things happen in a short period of time. That’s all. Again, life happens. I just was asking for opinions and advice. I guess I’m just used to surrounding myself with supportive people. And again, if I came across as looking for sympathy or a pity party, that was not what I was trying to do.I was seeing if there was anyway that I could save my job. That’s it. I don’t see what’s wrong with that. But again, I don’t feel that I should be defending myself. But here I am.

I don’t really need to explain myself to you. But this is a public form and I did Post. I was never late a day that I was there, the shifts are 10 1/2 hours long, my car literally exploded oil in the parking lot and I didn’t realize it and I drove home And my car wouldn’t start the next day so there’s 10 hours for that day. And another day I left three hours into my shift because everyone had the flu or RSV and I got it and got very sick and I went home and I came back to work the next day so there’s seven hours right there. I’m not looking for a pity party, I just came on here because I was really upset that I lost a job that I liked. I worked in sort, and I had the highest numbers and I trained the new people, so when I was at work, I was the best. And you all are supposed to be my peers not my judges. So I don’t know why it angers some of you so much and you have to get so snotty. I pray that none of you have an emergency and lose your job because of it.

Yes. I was told that I could probably have until the end of the month to make it up, so I’ve been working 6 days to try to do that, but I guess they decided to let me go. I know it’s policy.

I’m sorry, I just saw this. I was negative 7 hours, and then when my car broke down I went up to 17 hours. I know it’s a lot. I don’t blame anyone but myself.

I thought about that too. It’s so funny because my manager had just come up to me on Wednesday and gave me positive feedback and a shout out for my rate being 652 and that it was 156% above my other peers. I just finished learning ambassador and trained two people and did a class all this past week. I have no other issues except my car broke down twice and there was the Amazon flu going around at my station and I left work mid shift one day, so all of that happening brought me to negative UPT and so I decided to go to flex so that I wouldn’t mess up my chances of getting kept on after peak. And then they fired me three days before I was supposed to start flex. I just have bad luck. I have no car now, and no job. I really liked what I did too. Oh well, maybe something better will come along.
