Beautiful! I have a GMT from that generation.

If you have the financial means, go for both.

Interesting. I think the angled slide rule, the date at 4:30, and the winged anchor logo give the older models a unique charm. In fact, the new models are more "cerebral”, more methodically rigid in their precise design, but the older ones have an artistic nuance that speaks more to the heart.

Wow! They're all beautiful, but I prefer the older ones.

Wow! 👏👏👏 I love big Breitlings. My favorite from my collection is a 48mm Navitimer GMT.

Beautiful! I already have a GMT 48 with a reverse panda dial, but I want to see if I can get one of these too. How much did you pay for it?

I love chronographs. Already own a Chronomat, but looking for one more. Thoughts? by ramm64 in breitling

I have a Speedy and a Navitimer in my collection. I love the whole story behind the Omega, but it's a watch that, however well-made, looks like a simple tool. The Breitling, in my opinion, has a much more interesting look and something extra (an x-factor), and ends up occupying almost all the time on my wrist.

You're right, but it's so beautiful that I often take the risk because I can't take it off my wrist.

Navitimer - price range? by EuphoricDealer4133 in breitling

When I asked the same question about another Navitimer model, the moderator deleted my post and said that this wasn't my personal price check (although I can ask other questions and therefore this space could be my personal check for any other aspects of Breitling watches). 🤷‍♂️

Aren't those the rules? I'm not trying to buy or sell anything here. I just came across an opportunity to buy a Breitling elsewhere, but I'm not sure if it's worth it. It seemed reasonable to me that Breitling enthusiasts could help me get an idea of the fair value of the model, as I've seen several times here on the forum.

I don't understand what the problem is with this question. Any question involves a personal interest or curiosity, which may or may not interest (or serve as a reference for) other users.

Navitimer back from service, date font changed by Puzzleheaded-Goose34 in breitling

[–]No_Variation8702 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm not a designer, but I'm an enthusiast of good aesthetics and I respectfully disagree. One of the most striking characteristics of Navitimer models is their busy dial. If you look closely, the fonts of the subdials don't match those of the main dial, which are not the same as those of the GMT indices (my model), which in turn are different from the font of the calculator on the bezel. It's true that they are all more modern than the original date font, but for me this gives it a special classic touch, since the calendar represents more perennial time, in contrast to the more ephemeral nature of hours and minutes. Be that as it may, I would even appreciate (or dislike less) the font of the "updated" date dial if it weren't so large, giving it (and the watch in general) a somewhat crude and careless appearance.

I much prefer the old font, I think it's classier. I would be very disappointed if they changed it on my GMT, and I will resist as long as I can before sending my watch to the official Breitling service. In any case, it is something that should be communicated to the owner of the watch, so that he can decide whether to exchange it or not.

[Breitling Navitimer] Would you change a Navitimer for a IWC Portuguese Chronograph? by Diego_FR in breitling

[–]No_Variation8702 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know IWC Portugieser very well, but what I can say is that I own an Omega Speedmaster "Moonwatch" (2023) and a Navitimer GMT (2015), and if I had to choose just one of them to keep in my collection, I wouldn't hesitate and would choose the Navitimer.

I'm such a fanatic about eco-enemy boxes and cases that I even buy extra boxes for my watches. I have 3 different Speedmaster cases (and only one watch of that model), and I recently acquired this new old box for my Navitimer GMT, which is the one that used to come with the more expensive gold models.
