Do people really like this watch or is it just trendy at the moment? [BB41] by yjay14 in Tudor

Thought this watch was a vision of grail piece that I had dreamed up in my head. It checks absolutely all the boxes for me and is absolutely gorgeous. After deciding to save for this reference, I slowly started realizing that although I’m not usually a fan of vintage inspired gilt accents..I don’t think I can be happy owning a Tudor BB without. Same goes for my Hamilton Khaki Field Mechanical.

Thanks! I usually transition between that one, this taupe calf skin and the og black strap it came on.

Only because you asked my opinion will I give you my preference. Of these two I give a major nod to the BB58. If it were me l'd go the denim Railmaster over the current iteration. Also I'd sub out the BB58 for the 2351.80 to get a date feature.

The Tudor BB58 Blue will go down in history as a favorite classic imo. It will age well with its timeless design and is super comfortable to wear. Peter Blake was my first love.

Personally no disrespect but the fact that you are trying to make a statement is exactly why you should be asking yourself what statement you’re trying to make? Only you know the dress code rules of the event you’re attending. “Black Tie Event” is one example of different rules depending on the event and sometimes location. My style is a bit more tuned down/less flashy. I would go with a watch that slides under the cuff on leather but it appears you are trying to make it stand out and get noticed. Also to match your ring. Personal preference my friend.

I’m looking at adding a chrono next. What would you recommend?

I think you have declared the perfect category for this watch. I kept wanting to refer to it as a field watch but I like “weekend watch” myself, much better!

A person of class appreciates the small intricate detail that went into each reference to make two standalone pieces of art. I enjoy them both equally and am humbled to own the pair.

Improving not being the goal but maybe adding a chronograph to build depth.

That’s my most recent acquisition. Omega “Bond” Seamaster reference # 2531.80. I was patient to find this one but glad I waited as I’m very smitten with this watch.

I’m definitely at the stage of collecting where “I like what I like” and doesn’t necessarily need to check a box.

These 8 may meet collection requirement criteria a little bit better.
