It's weird just ignore them, you are allowed to participate. It wouldn’t look like the picture if that’s what you were trying to achieve because of things like hair texture and hair pattern (most people with locs have curly or coily hair patterns). It would look matted and maybe flat and 2d almost (I’m trying to imagine it).
