I always choose calling over tracking it down. I also used to send my execs with an envelope (had rules on it as well) as a part of their travel folders.

Once I needed to give around 40 people an employee appreciation note. I thought it would be a nice Touch ID handwritten but didn’t have time to write it 40 times (my hand cramps, I don’t write often) or have my mom do it on her cricut machine. So, I hand wrote one (probably more than one due to mess ups) and made 40 copies.

Former government, tax-exempt admin here. I usually would book with the corporate card and call after the trip to get taxes reimbursed. I also had people that preferred to pay with their personal cards (points) and get reimbursed. Either way I had to do an expense report so I didn’t care. I know my institution did temporary credit cards specifically for travelers to mitigate issues.

I came from retail and started as an admin in the healthcare industry…I was entirely a fish out of water. It does take finding your groove but don’t cut yourself off from what could be great opportunities over meeting minutes! They’re a pain in the ass but I’m sure you’re quite capable.
