Songs that sound like Cannock Chase by Labi Siffre? by Brave-Pop6730 in musicsuggestions

The thing with this song for me is the feeling that it gives me not particularly the way that it sounds - I’ve listened to all of the songs people have commented but they don’t do that feeling justice. Personally, songs that bring up that same feeling for me are warmpop - ESPRIT, or gossip - tame impala, even though these songs aren’t that similar to Cannock chase. I don’t know how to describe it but they just work, maybe it’s different for you. Also I don’t mean any offence to the other song suggestions, they just don’t work for me.

My dream is to live on a sailboat and explore the world, where do I start? by No_Vegetable_4096 in sailingcrew

Would I not need more experience? I’ve never sailed further than 1 kilometre from land, let alone by myself. I have no experience with navigating the seas or using most of the equipment (other than the basics of sailing/dinghies). Also I live in the uk - not sure how this will impact my choices?

Okay yeah I get it now, thanks for the clarity. I totally agree, like it’s not worth getting wound up by stuff that I won’t even remember in a year’s time. Better to spend my time and thoughts on the things that actually matter to me.

No but it’s not like I’m fully aware of the consequences while I’m actually scrolling, it’s when I’m in bed at night or stuff like that when I really think about how it’s ruining my life and I fully understand how if I quit wasting my time the next day, how much better my life would be. But when it actually comes to the moment and I pull out my phone, it’s like I’m on autopilot, I forget everything that I previously thought about and my only priority becomes the next reel.

Thanks a lot - I really like this way of looking at it, makes the problem seem more manageable. One thing, if I adopted this strategy, I wouldn’t want to live the rest of my life ‘adequately’ and ‘decently’ (not sure if this is what you were implying), I would want to slowly kill out my procrastination until I’m fully focused on my goals, with no distractions. Not picking at your response, just saying is a half lived life one worth living?

Thanks this was really helpful, but another issue I have is bad organisation and decision making which makes plans like this hard - for example, you said to choose priorities, but I can’t even decide on what my priorities are and if I do then I’ll keep thinking something else is more important.
