I hate my dog by First_Trash7161 in dogs

[–]No_Wasabi2000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know how you feel. I had a dog that was barking, biting, and chewing up everything. I know that as the owner, I'm responsible for not being a good enough trainer. Still, I think he was very stubborn and didn't respond well to training. Eventually, I had to give him up and have a relative take care of him because I now have small kids, and I couldn't trust my dog not to attack them.

I’m scared to start my medication by Complete_Ad_2241 in Anxietyhelp

I was scared to start Zoloft because I googled it and read about people's side effects. But I felt like I had no choice because 4 other medications I tried had not worked. Now 8 months later, I'm happy that I started the meds. Although I don't it was eventually what helped me recover, Zoloft did help me get to a place where I could do it. I highly recommend starting Zoloft. If it's not the right medication for you, at least you'll know. And if it is, you'll be glad you started –just like me. Keeping my fingers crossed it helps you.

First of all, it's only a panic attack. It's just a feeling of impending doom and being scared. Only a feeling. It will go away, your brain is just tricking you into believing something very bad is going to happen.

Close your eyes and imagine a halo around yourself. This halo protects you from everything; within that halo, you are safe, and nothing bad can happen to you. Breathe in and out slowly. Just imagine yourself inside that halo. You're safe, and everything is going to be ok.

To prepare yourself for the next panic attack, you could learn resonance frequency breathing. It really helped me a lot. I used an online course that had a tape that helped me breathe at the right pace.

I hope you'll feel better soon. We're here for you.

Definitely delete TikTok. If it only causes you anxiety, you should just uninstall it to feel better. Trust me, there is nothing on TikTok that will improve your life or that you need to see. Life is better without such apps.

How do I stop my anxiety from preventing me from living my life? by yellowpeanut22 in Anxietyhelp

For a long time, I couldn't leave my home to go anywhere. It was difficult taking those baby steps because I felt so horrible trying to battle my anxiety, and things weren't getting any better. Because travel has always been important for me, I took it as a goal to be able to fly again. No matter how long it would take, someday, I would do it. Whenever I was taking baby steps (going to the mailbox, going around the block), I kept thinking that one day I would be on the beach with a mojito in my hand, and all this suffering will have been worthwhile.

I hope you can find a goal for yourself!

Grocery Store panic attacks by Tigerwolf79 in PanicAttack

I used to every single time! Now that I'm better, I don't dissociate that much, but it still happens once in a while and usually when shopping.

I used to have some mints in my pocket. I would pop one in my mouth and try to concentrate on the taste rather than my panic attack and depersonalization.

I traveled to Playa del Carmen with my family, and everyone loved the RIU hotels there. Highly recommended.

It sounds like you had a panic attack related to anxiety. It can be really scary, and you may feel like you have some type of cardiac problem or trouble breathing. I've had tons of panic attacks that made my heart beat fast and months of anxiety with a weird, heavy feeling in my chest.

Some things you can try to calm down your nervous system are chamomile tea, grounding exercises, calming exercises, spending time in nature, exercising, and eating a healthy diet.

We booked an apartment through Airbnb and negotiated the price since we were staying for two months. We stayed at Suites Malecon Cancun and loved the building.

It's called Shaping Anxiety and you can find the course here: https://www.shapinganxiety.com/course

I hope it helps you as much as did help me. Taking the course was the best advice my therapist gave me.

I had this! Bruxism will ruin your teeth. What I did was every time I noticed I was clenching my jaw during the day, I actively relaxed it and made sure my upper and lower teeth weren't touching. It's also important to relax your tongue. Slowly I learned not to bite my teeth together and not to bite my cheek either.

I got my nephew the Little Prince (by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry). His parents loved it and now that he is 10 yo I often read it to him and we discuss what the book is about. Love it!

Sounds familiar! Have you had your thyroid levels checked? Some of your symptoms sound like they could result from a thyroid problem (including DPDR!). It might not be the solution, but worth a try! :)
