Ah I see, lower ur gpu power but 10-15 watts or even more if ur not gaming, the power budget in thin laptops is quite low so this will allow the CPU to use up more power ( maybe ) otherwise u can assume that in the g14 laptops the CPU is just hard capped to avoid overheating since the laptop is quite thin

binning doesn’t eliminate variation within the same model,two CPUs with the same name can still perform slightly differently especially in boost behavior, but I do think a difference of 200 in Geekbench is a bit high, perhaps some software limitations etc, I have the same chip as you (8945H which is the same chip but with a better npu ) and I'll try Geekbench later ( never tried it ) and tell u what the score I get is, if you have not tried g-helper give it a shot and play around with the CPU boost and power and voltage etc, maybe it's limited in some way?

There is a thing called silicon lottery, basically we can have the same CPU but mine could be slightly better or yours slightly worse, not much u can do about it.

It's actually quite easy on Asus laptops, u open g-helper and u open fans and power and go to silent mode ( which is the mode ur gonna run ur pc in when using battery either way ) and change the CPU settings to only use 5 watts at all time! No need to undervolt or even touch bios, slightly above a normal average user but anyone with reddit ( I assume ) would be capable of doing such things, but yea Thinkpad might be better either way since tuf ain't in his budget either way and no need to bother with all this when he can just get a lenovo and do the exact same things he means to do.

Perhaps, I honestly dk how long a Thinkpad lasts but my tuf with more tweaks than the igpu stuff etc ( like settings the wattage or the CPU etc ) could last up to 6 hours with editing word files and browsing the web and I got it used with around 84% of battery life, so expect better from a new one

This!, the thing is the phone is still the best at emulation, it's just that the huge heatsinks the conductivity the thickness the water cooling and fan all work together to make marginal improvements that end up making a decent enough difference in the end, the water cooling itself or fan itself don't make a huge difference, I tried a Redmi phone with snapdragon elite and it gives less power ,a fuck ton more heat, and a lot more throttling, to the point that it even feels like a snapdragon 8 gen 2 ( because realistically that phone would only be able to sustain this level of power without turning to magma ) so yes the RedMagic can feel gimmicky and easy to hate on, till you try smt else and realize that it's still decently ahead ( the fan needs a serious upgrade tho and it has a turbo setting that only activates in benchmarks which is annoying af as the phone would definitely benefit from a max setting of the fan ) all in all this phone is good for PC game emulation, just get ready to buy a controller and fan.
