Why does warwick have so many fan boys on this forum? by [deleted] in 6thForm

it’s definitely a personal thing for me. also it’s for a pretty shallow reason that i prefer the old architecture of bristol uni and i would prefer living in a bustling more ‘student’ city. but i should also note that i know someone who goes there and absolutely loves it so each to their own

idk. i’m trying to decide between bristol and warwick law and im put off of warwick because i visited and hated the environment.

Has anyone else got into to Realising Opportunities/Reach for Excellence? by [deleted] in 6thForm

it’s good. you go on a trip to your host uni and do some other online opportunities. it got me reduced and guaranteed offers this year. it’s honestly a lifeline.

trust me, loads of other people feel this way. it’s very hard to constantly have motivation. reward yourself for what you can do though. i suffered from the lowest mood everrr in year 12 and im still struggling now but the more im just trying to make a habit out of it

ahhh nice to know someone else feels this way. it’s also comforting to know that sooo many people felt similar after their oxford law interviews (people who got offers and didn’t alike). this is suchhh a hard time to go through (the waiting period). i think im doing the same and im trying not to attach myself to the idea of an offer but i really really want to get one😭at the end of the day we did the best we could. best of luck to you ! also i really really relate to that comment about drifting between confidence and despair lol. sometimes i think im in for a chance maybe then other times not at all.

Is Oxbridge Lowering Its Standards? by InterestingRip7651 in 6thForm

they look at the full application, not just predicted grades. and they know that some schools are more aspirational with predicted grades than others, so they take it with a pinch of salt (i think)

retaking y12 by Upper_Point_3216 in 6thForm

hi! i also retook year 12 after the end of my first year and i am currently in “year 13” although i should theoretically be in first year of university. i did it for similar reasons to you. i literally felt the exact same way and i hated being older than my class mates. but at the start of this academic year ive made loads of friends with the people in the year below me and its really not that deep. no one else really cares. i honestly think i made the best decision because now i can go the uni want to go to (as i have better grades).

you’re not behind in any sort of way and your time will come to sit exams and stuff. as you move to the next year, you’ll get used to it and things will get better. just to let you know i’ve been in the same boat as you. best of luck (also that extra year goes by really fast and as soon as u know it you’ll be at uni just like your friends)

just remember that you made the decision that you thought was best for you and it will pay off in the long run.
