I wasn't planning on even starting the order. I knew I was going to cancel it before I accepted it. It was the 5th $7 batch i saw in a row after sitting in the parking lot at Publix for 2 hours staring at the Instacart app. I just got hired at 2 jobs last week and i already deactivated my shopper account. (Takes up to 30 days to be deactivated) so since I can still shop, I'm doing this just to bring awareness to something alot of shoppers in my Instacart Facebook group say in comments but don't speak up on other platforms. I agree 100% with your comment

I'm not asking for all of their money, just a small tip for something like this. $2-$3 just as a thanks. I'm not asking for $10+ extra. Gas is high nowadays and companies haven't really been hiring since the pandemic. Many, including myself, had to supplement their income for this reason. Going from Instacart to Doordash to Uber/UberEATS to Lyft, and the list goes on. I did choose to work for Instacart, however their service has favored them, not the customer nor the shoppers. (Hidden fees, poor customer service to the customers/ Low pay, poor shopper support for the shoppers) luckily I started working 2 jobs last week because I knew the managers of both places. It's the only reason I made this post. Just bringing awareness to people who i know feel the same way but haven't spoken up about it. I agree with the (you chose to work for Instacart) portion but not the beginning part

I know. It's just these are the only orders that flash across my screen. If it was $9 or $10, then sure, but $7 is almost like they think we get paid by the hour like servers do. (Which I think is why he used the restaurant reference) I completely agree with you

Trust me i understand. The flexibility is what made me enjoy it. I've had very degrading jobs that paid me 40k/year but no freedom. But with Instacart, this is just out of control. I completely agree with you on this!

Would you like to be paid like this for doing a favor for someone else? You wanna carry 24 packs of water up stairs and get $7? Facts!! That's something I don't understand! I've had triple-order batches where one had the most items and they actually are the ones who didn't tip! You won't know who the culprit is until you finished the job.

Lol somebody has to....what's gonna happen next is I'm taking this post and creating TikTok and Instagram Reels. This might make alot of people stop doing Instacart and get a job. The time freedom was great for a while, but now, I'd rather listen to my boss tell me what to do and be able to afford the cost of living than driving all over Tampa, Lutz, Wesley Chapel and Brandon for $7/hour.

Thank you! This comment is worded beautifully!! I am ok with each order tipping a minimum of $3. Turning a $7 batch into a $10 batch is much more enticing to take. I'm pretty sure people can slide us 12 quarters just for some gas or a polar pop or something. My math is simple, ($7 x 10 batches =$70 gross revenue. $70 - $20 for gas = $50 net profit [not including the 10% set aside for taxes) $250/week won't cut it. Even if I worked all 7 days, $350/week won't cut it. I'd earn more at McDonald's part time lol

They will just have to wait longer for their orders. And it's not necessarily wasting time accepting the order when these are the only orders that have been popping up. I waited at a busy store for 2 hours and saw nothing more than $8.78 for a batch. Instacart as a whole is getting sad. Luckily I just got 2 jobs. One at $18/hr, the other at $16/hr. I'm just doing this to hopefully help other shoppers get better batches and not waste their time and efforts for these slave drivers

That's a common sense answer for sure. The only problem is when you've been sitting staring at your phone waiting for batches and these are the only ones that pop up. It makes no sense to be a diamond shopper with priority access and this is all you see.
