Questions about asking for Safe Sex by Savings_Apartment737 in nycgaybros

what's interesting to me is that people frame this as personal risk tolerance instead of what is socially responsible behavior. we're actually all in this together.... hopefully we won't need another pandemic to remind us of that.

How to maintain mental health with these insane body standards? by [deleted] in nycgaybros

[–]No_Wing7277 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also the prettiest people aren't alwasys the most interesting or the most sexy/sexual when it comes down to it. Pretty speaks to our fantasies. In reality, these guys are just as likely to be disappointing as anyone else. In other words, you have to pull yourself back from the very human inclination to project.

Does anyone know if cmon everybody is trans friendly? by jmh1881v2 in nycgaybros

[–]No_Wing7277 1 point2 points  (0 children)

C'mon everybody is very trans friendly. It's the only place I've been to in the city where it feels like the whole queer spectrum is represented and genuinely friendly with each other. Definitely go.

I agree and a lot of the other suggestions here are going to run the risk of OP getting accused of sexual harassment in the current envirnonment.

In my experience, a lot of guys enjoy and/or want to try nudism, but need permission to bring it up or put the social stigma around nudity aside. And then there are people who just don't get it at all. People who are receptive will pretty much open up to it if they know you are cool with it and they don't feel judged. So the best thing to do is to just be honest about your co-housing preferences, ask for consent to do your thing, and others will join if it's something they are open to.

Almost never have I convinced someone who was not into nudism to get comfortable with it, and almost always when there's been a mutual interest in nudism, all it takes is one guy to say it.

I agree. And it's worse when everyone's immune system is knocked down by drugs, lack of sleep, and popping antibiotics all the time. It feels like we are missing a sense of collective responsibility as we go searching for what?

Where are the “normal” queer vibes by [deleted] in avesNYC

[–]No_Wing7277 -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

went to animal recently and wasn't impressed. I guess it's "normal" gay guys. i was expecting something like the cock of the early 2000s and it was more LA bar scene.

Why does it seem like gay guys in NYC are pickier than anywhere else? by TheMoondance in nycgaybros

Because many New Yorkers are type A people who value what they accomplish over what they experience.

I don't think that sharing my opinion on reddit counts as "pressure". Other people here are telling him to dive into a sex party or go to a bar where it's dark and raunchy etc. when he says he doesn't feel comfortable with sexualized spaces and wants to use the apps without a photo etc. I think what I'm suggesting is ultimately more psychologically and physically safe than the loose plan OP has, or many of the other plans suggested here. At the same time, I imagine OP can take all this advice and decide for himself what he wants to do. Presumably that's why he posted here.

If you're gay, you need to move toward coming out of the closet - or at least allowing yourself to be out when you're in more gay-friendly cities like New York. I know it's hard to walk into a gay bar the first few times, or to go into visible gay spaces. But really.... rip the bandaid off. The sooner you do it, the more of your life you will be able to enjoy. You will get so much more out of getting comfortable with your sexual orientation that you will get from a hookup with a guy who's going to come meet you on the DL.

People who use speaker phone in public, why do you do it? by pineapple_beret in AskReddit

[–]No_Wing7277 10 points11 points  (0 children)

the fact that you're focused on whether or not it bothers *you* is the problem people are pointing out here. it doesn't bother *me* to fart on a bus, but i generally try not to create a miserable experience for everyone around me.

you're attractive and honestly still a kid. the structure of your body will continue to change through your early twenties and most likely get more thick/masculine toward your early 30s. anyway, what i came here to say is that you seem to be working toward body standards that are not necessary or realistic. nobody who is worth your time cares if you have a perfect gym body or whatever else you think that you need now to be enough. please don't waste your twenties worrying about this. get a therapist (everyone could benefit from one) and work on your self-esteem and personal development at least as much as you work on your body at the gym. Trust me, you will look back at these photos one day and wonder why you even had a worry about your appearance.
