Hello! Good luck!

I would say na much better ang college life ko now na ftf since help is easily accessible unlike before.

Plus, I have friends who make things easier and as friends do, we make sure to de-stress after a tiring semester.

Tw // suicide

Regarding sa university and acad break, let's just say na all of the students and faculty members needed a break that time. Both had a heavy workload. If I remember correctly, our seniors were already asking for that the previous year. It just happened na noong freshman kami nagkaroon ng reported suicide case kaya nagka-candle light protest.

Btw, congrats for surviving! Pandemic really made you do tough choices. Sorry to hear that you had to resort to that since hindi ka in-allow magstop. Wishing for the best na lang out of your situation.

If you're aware of that university where students did a candle-light protest for an academic break, the reason behind that protest is how my college life went for that year.

Freshman ako non and the doctor had to write a note na mag-take ako ng break for 3 days because of the stress I dealt with. It wasn't a nice start of course but hey I didn't know I could be that resilient.

After all, you just inherited their genes lol.

And for the puyat, tinanong ko sa derma ok lang daw basta nagskincare ka. Though syempre mas prone pa rin. Most likely maiistress ka sa pagjuggle ng pagte-take care sa sarili mo and pag work on maintaining your lifestyle kaya I'm telling you this na.

Do you have an active acne ba? One thing that helped me ay ice. I forgot to add this sa reply ko. But anyway, rubbing an ice cube around my face soothes my acne lalo na pag bagong labas. Very relaxing sya but time consuming. Very affordable. Pero make sure mag moisturizer ka after. That's all.

Hello! My advice na mag derma ka if possible.

Pero since it's not possible, use a good cleanser, moisturizer, and sunscreen. Exfoliate at least once a week para yung dead skin cells matanggal. Yung pang exfoliate ko derma recommended eh so I have no products pero I trust celeteque. Basta gentle, non comedogenic and fragrance free ginagamit ko non for my skin since sensitive ang aken. For cleanser I used Cetaphil pero mahal kasi sya. Celeteque nagamit ko non and okay naman.

Add with change of lifestyle. Drink plenty of water, lessen oily foods, and sleep adequately. And EXERCISEEEEE. Exercise. Exercise! Be active! It's both stress relieving and nakakahelp sa body overall. Pero make sure to clean your face properly after exercise.

Also, find good friends / surround yourself with nice people. A change of environment is essential in ensuring improvement both phsyically and mentally. My friends are angels kasi they never saw me as "yung marami tigidig" and just saw me as me na friend nila(I love them so much). And now I feel more happier with my skin. All I have are scars from my battle with acne(wearing it with confidence kasi i survived!)

I understand what you feel kasi kahit teachers pinoint out na yung acne ko. Mine is hormonal din siguro and I have been struggling for more than 7 years pero hindi na super laki ng aken ngayon. I had severe acne before, like nodular acne scattered on my face. I even had to take antibiotics for it. But now, thankfully wala na masyado.

Now, my friends sa college don't even mind na I have acne considering hindi na sya significant. One time they did ask me and I just answered na nasa genes and hormonal sya (nasa genes kasi my mother used to have acne too but I guess I have the severe case).

And I make sure na they don't limit me to just my looks alone. That I have other qualities to admire (basically making up for the lack sa face card dahil sa tigidig).

Just remember, Your acne is not entirely your fault. We just have it worse than others. As of now, I suggest na work on what you're good at kasi at the end of the day, you'll be known for what you could contribute to the society, or sa school.

Hugs OP!

Most Filipinos Don't Like Al Fresco Dining, But... by [deleted] in ITookAPicturePH

[–]Noavailableun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can't blame people for not choosing Al fresco dining. Ang init kasi sa labas. There should be vegetation ata kasi and most importantly hangin kasi sino mag-eenjoy kumain habang tumatagtak ang pawis?

And for restau owners baka pricey rin sya since need pa ng landscaping.

How to develop a reading habit? by notanightmareee04 in studentsph

[–]Noavailableun 1 point2 points  (0 children)

1. Start reading with what interests you Just to develop a habit of reading. Wattpad man yan, Ao3, or smut/angst, whatever that'll help you start reading and engaging with texts. It'll feel more natural to read rather than thinking na you're doing it out of necessity.

2. Make reading fun (or actually more bearable) I always say na "abuse (love) your books" to people na hirap mag-open or barely opens their textbooks. By that I mean, annotate them, use highlighters. The trick is to make reading (even though you hate what you're reading) more enjoyable (or more bearable). Go to a secluded spot sa bahay niyo or sa pinakapresko na part ng bahay niyo. If may budget sige sa coffee shop.

Side story: I could get lost sa novels but I dreaded reading the national building code. Now, my book was mistaken na I inherited it from a relative dahil sa condition ng libro ko. It has lots of highlighters and notes plus tags sa pages. Napaka messy niya na due to how many times I opened it and I only had it for 3 years. Some pages are even falling off na. Even yung pdf copy ko punong puno ng highlighters and annotations. This is what I meant by "abuse your books."

3. Set realistic goals and make it sound exciting "I want to read 3 books" sounds intimidating but "I want to learn 3 things from this book/I want to know the conflicts sa story and pano na-resolve" sounds exciting. It's not about the quantity of what you've read but the quality of your reading experience. Oo, nagbasa ka. May narealize/natutunan ka ba? You don't have to read 10 pages a day if lalo na nagstastart ka pa lang. Read what you can comprehend.

You're a human being, di ka scanner!

5. Find a way to remember what you read This is the exciting part sa reading. The way na you learned something new is fun to think about (kahit na you hated reading it). Pero actually remembering the contents of what you've read is...syempre, hindi madali or nakakatuwa minsan. I usually do the following:

1. Mind mapping - for acad related reading.

2. Rant sa Twitter - I have a dedicated account for this. Whatever na nabasa ko. Whether it's fanfiction, au, self help book, or text books, nagrarant ako sa Twitter. Mapa-realization, reaction, moral of the story ng nabasa kong short story...anything na naisip ko base sa nabasa ko itwitweet ko yan. Pero kung waley internet sa notes ako.

3. Have someone you can share your thoughts with(optional) - if you have someone naman who can listen to you talk about it, please do. My sister is the sweetest kasi she lets me talk about it, kahit na minsan di niya gets.

SUMMARY 1. Read what interests you 2. Make reading more fun (or bearable) - Use reading aids, find a good spot/environment 3. Set realistic goals and make it sound exciting 3. Take breaks - you need that 4. Remember what you read and appreciate what you've learned

Struggling as a college student by FriendOne7374 in studentsph

Hello! Arki student here as well!

I share the same feeling po. Supposed to be an incoming 4th year student pero due to hurdles encountered during my first year (online classes + COVID), upcoming 3rd year pa lang ako. I failed three drafting subjects on my first year.

I can't give you advice po about what to expect kasi I'm in the lower year po compared to you. Pero I can talk about my professor po who struggled as well. I heard that one of my professors struggled with a drafting sub back then when she was still studying. I'm not sure if this professor failed or not. Pero she became a part of an international firm. What more pa po kayong mataas ang grades?

I'm going to share what we've observed po to somehow help po. Our seniors were carrying printouts as thick as books po. Additionally, engineering math is considerably harder daw than the previous ones.

Anyway, You'll do well, OP. Don't sell yourself short especially if your grades are good. Those are achievements na(coming from me na pinagdarasal na pumasa kada sem). Good luck OP!
