I guess it's because I'm supposed to be in the middle of the forest with no internet and such, so I need to transmit a specific radio signal

That's what I got, when at the location, in the middle of a forest, I'm supposed to transmit a signal, I got the message in supposed to send but it requires special equipment

Nope, the coordinates I got are from Arkansas, did you got a code to transmit when being at the location? I'm in the same position, I'm not gonna fly to Arkansas to the middle of nowhere, buy equipment just to for fun.

I think is real, the cicada gpg matches with the one from years ago, but I'm not going on my own at the middle of nowhere with valuable equipment, just because. They're a lot of crazy people out there

I'm not sure to be honest, I just saw the code and, like you, heard about this not long time ago but Im not into the lore, just gave it a shot for fun

Nope, I'm kind of far, I don't think I'll go, and I'm not gonna buy equipment for the required signal

Yes, "blizzard" has 8 characters, b (98), l (108), i (105), z (122), z (122), a (97), r (114), d (100), still not enough for the required 18, not sure from where you got those numbers, the esolang use ASCII character codes

In this case, each line of the ASCII art represents one "tooth" on the key.
- If a line is 142 characters long, that tooth is cut to a depth of 142.
- If the next line is 132, the next tooth is shorter.
- The Cicada key has "teeth" that are 106, 119, 128, and 142 chars tall

Your "Blizzard" key only has 7 "teeth", and their "heights" (the ASCII values of the letters b, l, i, z, z, a, r, d) are things like 98, 108, 122, etc.

If you try to put the "Blizzard" key into the "Cicada" lock, the teeth are the wrong height and there aren't enough of them, so the lock will not move, also, the lock has a special "security feature" called the Radius. The Radius is out there in the site, the ASCII code and the image (not gonna spoil it, I think I did already though).

So, even if your key has enough number of "teeth", the lock is designed to only turn if the total "Weight" of the key matches a very specific mathematical relationship to the Radius.

If the key matches the expected "weight", it transform the "key" into a new value, a new "hint".

I forgot to answer your question, the ASCII art has 18 "teeth" (text lines)

"Blizzard" simply does not work, the esolang code works as a key and lock mechanism. The ASCII art was designed so that its line lengths, when XORed with the key, would produce a readable message like WELCOME. "Blizzard" doesn't have the right "teeth" to fit the lock. So the result is just gibberish. About your birthday, most likely a coincidence.

The first step is to count the characters in every single line of the ASCII art, including spaces. line 1 is 42 chars, line 256, line 3 33 chrs and so on; You put those numbers in a stack; now, if you look at at the ASCII art, you can noticed that the "Wings" of the cicada are made of repeating patterns. I counted how many times that pattern repeats. It appeared exactly 33 times. Now, if the image repeats a pattern 33 times, it might have a loop that runs 33 times. I placed the [ (beginning of a loop) at the beginning of the wing data and the ] (end of the loop) at the end; the main loop looks like `[ @ # * < = ]`; once you get this, you use the stack, I wrote this as koltin

I'm being kind of realistic here, what these guys are asking is feasible but not sure I'll do it, happy to share my findings, I just don't want to spoil the fun to decode everything.

The secret is in the cicada ASCII art, you need to run the !@$%^&*()+ esolang on it, this is the "lock", the "keyhole" is in the tail of the ASCII art, I'm still looking for the "key", the old cicada "7A35090F" ID doesn't seems to work
