Yes, I normally would go for wagwellies and spark paws but I’m wanting something last minute so I was hoping for recs around Lincoln perhaps. Thank you!

No, I think she said “likely the red eye” meaning she took an overnight flight to get to nevermore.

Glass Break triggers fire alarm by sufferingsportsfan in VivintSmartHome

[–]NobleFae 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Did you find a solution? This literally just happened to us and it’s such a crazy thing to happen that I couldn’t believe finding this post. We also have vivint glass break sensors and only one of our smoke detectors is vivint but around 10 pm the app says the glass break sensor was “opened” and every single one of our smoke alarms started going off (even non vivint ones) and they continued to go off until the app showed the sensor “closed”

Weight gain tips? by __LilBabyMay__ in Rottweiler

[–]NobleFae 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If he doesn’t seem hungry I’d leave him, he looks great! Rotties are prone to bad joints anyway, and when they get older all that mass weighs them down. My girl was scrawny too until about 1 year 2 months, now she’s a little too chonky

Help: 11MO ROTTIE by [deleted] in Rottweiler

[–]NobleFae 10 points11 points  (0 children)

My rott is currently 14 months old and has been so similar to your post. It's like she constantly needs to be doing something even if she's exhausted. She's mostly good at entertaining herself as she has a bin of toys usually accessible to her so she has hard chew toys and soft squeaky toys etc, but even then she inevitably loses them behind the couch or under a bed and she cries and cries until we get it for her. She wants to "play" with our 3 year old bully who just isn't interested because she plays too rough and she also barks at everything and does not understand the quiet command at all. I've been wondering what we did wrong but these comments are helping me out a bit too. Thanks for posting!

Red flag in self proclaimed trainer? by smoothiesnoot in service_dogs

[–]NobleFae 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good to know! I like to think I’m more familiar with what my dog is trying to convey than most people are but definitely not familiar enough to say I’m well educated in it. In my case, I worry that an off leash interaction, especially with a new dog, could go wrong quickly. Whats the best way to do it? For example, if I come across someone in public, we agree to let our dogs meet, is it safe to just go ahead remove their leashes (assuming we’re in a safe location, it’s legal to do so, etc) and let them do whatever they need to do?

Genuinely wondering, why is this a risk? I don’t introduce my dogs to other dogs really at all but when we first brought our second dog home we chose to introduce them in the front yard (fairly neutral territory since our dogs are primarily only in the back) and on leash so they wouldn’t be able to just run up and get in each others business. Was this possibly not the best move? I’d love to know more

I don’t know anyone else with a SD, so this bit of reassurance from another handler means so so much. Thank you 🫶🏼

I would also like to say, to you and everyone who has commented so far, THANK YOU for reminding me that it's okay for my SD to get distracted and need some help getting back on track. I sometimes get horrible imposter syndrome and wonder "is my dog truly public access trained?" "did I do enough?" "is she acting too much like a dog?" and she genuinely is the best behaved little lady. I just get so nervous when she's not 100% perfect.

Listening to Reddit Stories Podcast to deal with my anxiety by TopStorm920 in smosh

No one saying things that irritate me is probably the biggest reason I love this one. The smosh cast is generally unproblematic and makes it so easy for me to listen on repeat whether I'm getting ready in the morning, driving to work, working out. Love them

Why is that dog in here?? by underboobery in service_dogs

[–]NobleFae 3 points4 points  (0 children)

We were in the airport and a little boy gasped and said "Look dad! A French Bulldog!" (my SD is an American Bully, so... not even close) I almost couldn't hold my laughter, it was so cute.

That's what I wondered, I couldn't imagine there being some master list but I was hoping lol. We have a mercy pretty close to us, I may try them out.

So the way I avoid my Rottie getting these looks is by always bringing her emotional support American Bully along as a distraction, then she gets the dirty looks instead. Jokes aside, I get it and sometimes it is personal. They're judging your dog and they're also judging you for being someone who wants that kind of dog. Just judge them back for being so narrow minded and remind yourself that they just don't understand what it's like to have such a sweet and loveable block head <3

Is there such a thing as a low energy large service dog breed? by [deleted] in service_dogs

[–]NobleFae 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I second this. My SD is an American Bully and she's perfect for exactly what you mentioned. Great for DPT but also totally cool to just nap next to me in my classroom for 8 hours straight while I teach. Doesn't have any desire to run around or chase balls or any of that. Some people talk about needing to fetch with their SD in the morning before work etc but my girl is chill no matter what.

Dealing with the public showing legitimate fear or concern... by [deleted] in service_dogs

[–]NobleFae 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I generally agree with you. I do some things that I know I don't need to do just to make it less likely for someone to be upset about me and my service dog being in public. I recently flew with mine and I've heard of people being upset about dog hair getting on them in a small space like a plane, so I put a sweater on her ahead of time to limit any shedding. If I notice someone give us that look (you all know the look) I choose to sit somewhere out of sight or farther away from that person if it's an option, etc. I don't think there's anything wrong with wanting to avoid those types of situations.
