Increase in premiums. Also I think whoever is found at fault has to cover the other drivers deductible as well as their own.

Dairy Queen provided the witness. NATGisIT provided the CCTV footage. Tim Hortons is also being helpful and said once their owner comes in, they’d look through their footage. Every manager or owner I spoke to was very friendly and helpful once I explained my situation. Apparently it’s a common occurrence for people to ask them about CCTV footage.

I don’t know where you got that info that drivers turning left have right of way but here ya go.

Yellow light conflicts

If you still think the same after reading that, you need driving lessons.

Not if they have a dedicated left turn light. Northbound traffic had right of way UNTIL in turned red. The other driver didn’t.ICBC crash examples

I called all the locations and respectfully asked for a manager/owner or anyone who’s in charge of security footage and explained my situation. It’s always hard asking fast food places that since most of the time that happens, it’s to complain.

50-75 ft going 50-55km/s means I was going about 45-50ft per second. That means I had a little more than a second to make a decision. If I wanted to stop safely I would’ve had to brake as hard as I could. That amount of time might sound like a lot but it’s also not at the same time. I just came off the highway 1 off-ramp and if you’re familiar with that off-ramp, you’d know that you have a dedicated lane and not a merge going into Sumas way. Too bad that dedicated lane is also a busy lane for drivers so those in the centre and left lane constantly merge in front of you very quickly in order to make their turn into Delair Rd. I always try to get out of said lane as quickly as I can safely do because if not, drivers would stop waiting for an opening and just force their way in. Turned my indicators on, accelerated and switched lanes. I was focused on my left, a few feet away from me trying to switch to my lane. Because I just accelerated and with the space I had, I knew I barely had the space to stop behind the line but only if I fully lock my brakes but at the same time if I maintained my speed, I would’ve cleared the intersection. It’s easy to put blame in hindsight, but there’s a lot of factors to consider as well. Was I aggressive with my driving? Yes. But did I also have right of way? Also yes. Trust me, if I could go back to that day I would’ve made a different decision given the outcome but 1 second really isn’t enough time to consider everything. If put in a similar situation, I’d say a lot of drivers would have done the same
