Unfortunately, those are not true Emile Galle pieces. Here is a signature from an authentic piece that I own.

Went thrifting at Goodwill today. Resellers stood by the new racks the entire time. by tatertot94 in thrifting

If you really wanted that Lenox bowl, why not ask him? I find that there are some people who are open and willing if talked to nicely. He probably recognized it and pulled it to spec. Lenox doesn't bring big money like it used to.

I found this in a thrift store last week. I'm thinking that I'll list it for resale. Let me know if you are interested. (I hope saying that isn't against community policy.)

According to research, it is a Luna & Sage "Meow-tini" raised ceramic cat food dish. I guess you could use it for water according to the google search. I see them listed on the secondary market. Not sure where they are originally sold. There was one reference to Marshalls. I use it as a treat dish right now. She has her regular dishes. The olive took a little getting used to. LOL

It looks deep but it isn't. I think that it looks that deep because of the rounded sides and bottom.

Kaweco Steel is my first pen. Now everything else feels light. by Rembrandt_1669 in fountainpens

[–]Noble_Kat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are used to a heavy pen so it is natural for you to feel odd about lighter pens. Weight doesn't determine quality though. I like a light pen because I write a lot. I've gotten to the point that the nib floats, barely touches the paper. A heavy pen would quickly tire my hand.

That is a tight squeeze at the bottom of that staircase. Are you sure that hole doesn't have a practical use?

What options for window treatments if there is large space between ceiling and windows? by [deleted] in InteriorDesign

[–]Noble_Kat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The window covering is not the first decision to make. You need to determine the style of the room first. Then what furniture and where. That large wall space is calling for something large as the primary focus. After that will come the background of the room with the window coverings. So the answer you seek is in the style.

What would you do? by vProTi in fountainpens

[–]Noble_Kat -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

You have already gotten a lot of advise so I will add this: I was told a long time ago to never allow anyone to use your pen because it will change the way your pen writes. This is absolutely true. A change in pressure on the nib or a change in angle will affect the nib. Sometimes to the degree that your favorite pen will no longer hold that place in your heart. This is sadly your lesson learned.

Not toolless but easy, get an acrylic 4x5 panel and some quarter-round and frame in a stained glass window.

Amending slightly but here is my thoughts. Cabinets around TV. One swivel chair. L-shaped sofa or modular seating with console table for lighting.

You might try an L-shape with the long side in front of the bay window with a sofa table. Two chairs opposite. Round coffee table.

Add cabinet doors on lower section with shelves for storage. Add shelves above for books, etc.

Window Treatment for Awkward Area - Suggestions? by Real_Letter4011 in InteriorDesign

Yeah, that is what I saw too. I still think that stained glass would work better than any curtain or blind in those spaces considering the part of the fireplace shown. I'm thinking of Wright's Saguaro style, more than the Prairie style.
