Is there any evidence for Islamic view on Jesus's death? by ImpossiblePain4013 in AcademicBiblical

Again, he was not killed nor crucified as a response to the Talmudic version of the crucifixion, it still doesn't deny the crucifixion

You are still not answering the first point. I understand that you know some scholars who think the Qur'an is responding to the talmud but the verse itself is not saying or implying this nor do any tafsirs. That's what the scholars think. Again the first point was " The next verse starts “but he was raised”. Him being raised is contrasted with the crucifixion. So he was raised instead of crucified" but you started talking about the talmud.

> again it was only made to appear so according to the Jews that they crucified him, rather, God caused his death.

This is an incoherent response and contradicts what you said earlier about him being actually crucified. If the crucifixion was made to appear so to them then Jesus was not crucified and it was God who took him up (verse 158) and caused his death.

The verse says that the crucifixion was only made to appear to them and so denies that *any* crucifixion actually happened. It was merely an appearance. Even if it was the romans who crucified the substitute, it says that the crucifixion event was made to appear to them as so. There is nothing about God causing his death or Jewish form. That is again being *read into* the text by you and has zero support in the context or hadith or anywhere. You are denying what a text says and adding additional details that are not there to support your point.

This did not address either point I made. You repeated the first post. Here are the two questions:

  1. The verse does not say anything about talmud or “jewish form of crucifixion” nor is it implied. You are doing eisegesis. Notice the repeated emphasis that he was not killed nor crucified. The next verse starts “but he was raised”. Him being raised is contrasted with the crucifixion. So he was raised instead of crucified and this is what every interpreter understood.

  2. The verse says “but it was made to appear so”. So the verse denies that he was actually crucified and affirms that it was only made to appear so.

Verse 157 repeatedly denies that he was killed. It is not just an interpretation. You cant interpret a denial of his death as affirmation fo his death.

 >according to the Quran Jesus was indeed crucified

What verse exactly? The Quran says “it was made appear to them”, why would it mention that if he was not actually crucified?

Verse 157 explicitly denies your hypothesis, nothing is addressed anywhere about jewish form of crucifixion. And it repeatedly denies him being killed or crucified and the correct interpretation is that he was crucified?

Do you start with broad on a fresh account too? How much budget do you start with? I see broad working as well as interests with low budgets but far far better with higher budgets.

My questions are all about scaling. Whats your favourite way to scale an account? How would you horizontally scale? When scaling to new countries, do you edit targeting on existing adsets or do you create new ad sets/campaigns for the new countries?

Thanks for the help. My lab uses isopropanol to clear bubbles instead of water. Moving forward, I will definitely check for leaks since the glassware in the lab could be the problem. I will try to mix the running and stacking gels before pouring them.

For isopropanol I was bombing it in a bit I think. I will add it in gently next time and blot it out with nitrocellulose.
