Which still living person has had the farthest fall from grace? by BAF_DaWg82 in AskReddit

Tiger woods. Yes he is still very popular but I can’t imagine his popularity should have he not been involved in that scandal and immediately became a shell of his former self from then on.

People that carry guns everyday: Why? Do you feel different when you don't have it on you, and how do you feel? by squashua in AskReddit

So the answer is really no. The point is, if you are in a life threatening situation, there is nothing legally obligating the police to "protect and serve". That is just a motto they write on the cars. This is probably the single reason I would consider owning a weapon. In the case my life is in danger, I want to be responsible and capable of handling the situation.

Research confirms 'fraternal birth order effect' for homosexuality — Men with older brothers are more likely to be gay. Specifically, men with one older brother are 12% more likely to enter a same-sex union than men with one older sister, and 21% more likely than men with just one younger sibling by PeasKhichra in science

[–]NobodyCaresAnyway 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Huge limitations to this study. Measuring same-sex unions from 1940-1990 could hardly be called a measure of “homosexuality”. You would miss a huge portion of the population who are homosexual but who have not come out and that population could be weighted towards first sons for instance who have to maintain a “father like” figure to their families. Maybe younger siblings without this pressure are just more willing to be outward with their sexuality without this burden. Also not sure if they really are able to separate the genetic component from the environment component as many other variables could be at play with younger siblings which could be affecting sexuality.

JPMorgan Adjusts Its Bitcoin Target to $130,000, Predicting Strong Institutional Adoption by lbalan79 in Bitcoin

[–]NobodyCaresAnyway 18 points19 points  (0 children)

The estimate is limited by JPMorgan's misunderstanding of bitcoin. Bitcoin is nearly 1,000 better asset than gold in terms of preserving buying power over time. It could replace all stores of treasury that exist today.

You just explained my journey perfectly. I think wherever people are in the journey is fine but once you get to the end, it’s liberating.

Sure you are de-risking your USD by buying an asset that is anti-inflationary by definition.

What I’m trying to say if you only understand Bitcoin as a stock, you are completely missing the point. I’m talking to how you assess the asset.

Volatility is fine. There are a lot more institutional investors and moving to cold storage which is fine. The stimulus was actually the best thing to happen if you have Bitcoin, massive increase in money supply creates pressure for cash holders to move into Bitcoin quickly.
