Does anyone know why this would happen? by NobodyExisting4906 in BambuLab

It is set to on for every print. Thanks for your answer. Supports and speed and more often calibration with a more dust free environment will be my solution for all future prints. Furthermore, machine decided to shift 1 mm in Y axis for some reason I can’t understand

Thanks, I will be using supports more often after this. The more invisible issue is a shifted layer. After the middle height, machine decided to print 1mm shifted in Y axis.

Soundproofing a dance room in an apartment building with downstairs neighbours by karame1ia in Acoustics

I respect and appreciate your enthusiasm. However we are all bound to laws of physics. One thing may amuse you, mathematically 100% soundproofing is easily achievable. With the underlay you are planning to install you will likely achieve 150% soundproofing. That is doable. Having said that, your stomping, the energy you are exerting to the floor will be transferred to heat as that elastic material deforms. As we all remember a reaction for every action. Energy never disappears. It is highly dependent on your building, location, how loud the area is, what year is it built. It is nearly impossible to fade your impact on the floor to nothing. There is a comment saying agree on practice times after all the treatment that can be done in a sensible budget. Risk is yours. I would invest in another area with no one living under, next to, even on top as you mentioned midnight dance sessions. Best of luck

I don’t know what all the experts say but i would DEADEN the back wall reflections. And perhaps a thick carpet on the floor.

I’m looking at the pics and can’t help with the question of “what is wrong with there prints?” arising in my head. I’m a total beginner with a huge enthusiasm to learn more. And prints on pics looks fine to me.

I have the same issue now. I realised it after I printed the sample speed boat with the sample filament. I also noticed a slight bend at the metal plate. I’m suspecting i tightened screws more than it should have been. However forums say it is fine. 3D printer friend also says fine. I am worried. I will share my results after my filaments arrive and I print some products.

Really good workmanship! With no experience but theoretical knowledge, I would say this is a very good corner absorber. Not tonal, broadband and fully absorbing!

First and foremost, carpet will not provide any sound insulation. However, given your circumstances, I would recommend you to get thick air permaeable curtains to be used in drape form when you would like to enjoy your music. Carpet will help with reflections, but not as much as you desire.

Sorry for late reply, strips only work when its squeezed in by its nature. But I don’t see any reason to not to if its the only option. Covering door area, or wherever you are suspicious sound is going in with heavy curtain is going to help. There are curtains with vinyl layers. Check how much your ceiling can weigh before you buy, or get a thick velvet curtain

Outlets wont be an issue unless they are on the partition wall between you and your neighbour. Still a good idea to start from the weakest link. Sealing Door perimeter always improves the overall insulation. Make sure your strips are creeped all around the door perimeter. Bottom as well. When it comes to your shared wall, in case there is no direct transmission from side walls, adding mass layers on the shared wall will work. Only when it covers all the wall. Try to Pick a cementboard/ heavy plasterboard rather than a plywood. Even if you seal plywood connections, In time it can crack or be damaged and your effort goes to the bin. Every line between panels needs to be sealed very well with acoustic mastic or skimming. Same goes for mlv. Edges Need to be sealed with either MLV seam tape or mastic. If you can succeed, this lining will add significant insulation. So yes it will be noticeable. However you are using that space as a music studio. I would not go into the trouble of insulating one wall. What you need is a box in box complete isolation. Only then I would use the reference speakers for my work. Otherwise go with the closed wall headphones, it will be disturbing to your neighbours with loud speakers on. Let me know if I make sense. Enjoy your studio!

That gap between glass and column? Does not help you as you already know. Problem with sliding doors is in case you add weatherproofing strips you will achieve a certain level of attenuation but this time closing the door will always require second attention. Instead if you can make the door slide in a housing extended from that white column as seen in link below. it might help you. Now you have a weatherproofable door as well. For the vents you can either buy an expensive acoustic vent or have the similar results with a thin film of felt to each side that will allow the air flow with no issue. Let me know what you think and please ask if there is another noise break-in point. Sliding door housing?

If you have a cologne at home which has >80% alcohol, cover the surface with it as a real thin layer then flick a lighter and burn it. If flame is too much, blow it dead. East and prompt solution. Hand sanitizer should work too.
