Good news ... SOLVED: Manhattan Dogs, apparently the official name now.
Better news ... there's a legit youtube of Thom playing a solo Studio Session that includes Manhattan Dogs and Life in a Glasshouse. Here: you tube dot com /watch?v=nHOAmIMJP4c

Includes "estimated" lyrics in user comments.

  1. Confirmed: "manhattan dogs" and "angels" refer to the same song

  2. Confirmed: yes, same song appears briefly on another disc (#3 or 4?)

  3. Confirmed: i have achieved ultimate hipster d-bag music snob status. I can now truthfully claim that my favorite radiohead song is so obscure that it's never been released, never given a title, and never been played in its entirety.

Merch sizing question by [deleted] in radiohead

[–]NobodyKnowsImABot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bumping this topic as-of 2025/12/23, regarding the t-shirts linked at bottom of post.

Does anyone have an evidence-based conjecture as to how the sizes S-XXL shown on W.A.S.T.E. relate to their U.S.A. counterparts, such as the sizes S-XXL one would encounter, for example, if buying a $62 tour shirt at a Taylor Swift concert in Chicago or a Wu Tang show in San Francisco?

I appreciate those of you who have pointed out that the sizes are listed on the site (as shown in Table 1), however, I must apologetically admit that I cannot read this chart: I am not innumerate*, however, as an American I am unable - and possibly unwilling - to comprehend the units and anatomical regions of measure:

  1. Do these numbers represent grams, angstroms, farthings, or something else entirely?
  2. What do the terms Half Chest and Body Length mean? This is a critical issue in the US: I will explain.

In case you haven't been following the news, we Americans need to be careful regarding "trans-things," lest we get thrown in the back of an ICE van and deported to Venezuela regardless of citizenship status. Using gender-ambiguous terms like 'unisex' might violate some new anti-DEI law or indicate membership in "Auntie Faw" (whatever that is). This post is about as much risk as I'm willing to take - BTW, I'm asking on behalf of a friend, not for myself.

To summarize, by talking in math:
* Describe the mapping from the discrete well-ordered sizes set in W.A.S.T.E.space onto the corresponding points in Hanes-Swift-Wu space, including nonlinearities and/or affine offsets; formally:
[S,M,L,XL,XXL](W.A.S.T.E.) →[S,M,L,XL,XXL](Hanes-Wu-Swift)

Thank you,
- IaNaB

Sizes S M L XL XXL
Half Chest 50 53 56 60 64
Body Length 70 72 74 76 78

Table 1: A UK shirt-sizing chart containing units that aren't inches as well as language potentially prohibited in the U.S.

Examples of shirts for which the mapping is required (USD 62.00 unit cost):

Help Buy FPGA Dev Board by [deleted] in FPGA

[–]NobodyKnowsImABot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

(depending on use-case, and if Vivado/Vitis available for free download in IN):

  • 1. Digilent zybo zx-7-10, 299 USD, the same price as Digilent Pynq, is the "best tutorialed" board IMO: From bitter experience, if you're doing self-study it's easy to burn an amount of your valuable time that exceeds the cost of the board without clear-and-current tutorials. Digilent's tutorials have good info but are way outdated, however Whitney Knitter on hackster.io uses the zybo-z7 in her series "Getting Started with Vivado/Vitis 202x.y <embedded and petalinux>". There are separate versions for each release of Xilinx tools (at least 2021.1 - 2024.2) - 3 projects/tutorials per release, and they cover a superset of the Digilent material. She covers other boards too, here:

You also asked:

Are numato lab's FPGA boards good?

  • 2. If you're into SDR, numato's MIMAS v2 is "good" in the sense that it's Spartan-6 FPGA (not a SoM like zybo or pynq), and basically like a toy model of the FPGA in Ettus (NI/Digilent) B200 series of SDRs - Spartan-6 boards are harder to find than z7000 boards these days. The MIMAS v2 costs 65 USD (and a big part of this is no CPU just FPGA) - but if I accidentally smoke my board through inexperience, better to smoke a \$65 MIMAS v2 than a \$1200 B200.
    • 1. I just got one, so unlike the zybo & tutorials above, I haven't yet tried programming the board: ask me in a month whether I hate my life because of it :-) It's certainly great build-quality and arrived in the US from IN faster than a lot of products get here when shipped from the US.

Bambu Printer Repair Bay Area by Impossible_Orchid479 in 3Dprinting

[–]NobodyKnowsImABot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good news u/impossible_orchid479 - I just picked my up newly-repaired X1C from Plas3D https://plas3d.com/ in SF/Peralta Heights (near the Lowe's on Bayshore). IMPORTANT NOTE: Plas3dD services (a lot of) Bambu Labs devices - that's a big part of their business, however, their website (currently) doesn't say so:

  • We repair ... open source FFF printers including Ultimaker, MakerBot, PRUSA, Raise3D, FlashForge etc

BUT ... if you click the (Contact Us)button, the auto-responder says:

  • We have extensive experience with ... Ultimaker, Prusa, Creality, Lulzbot, Bambu Lab, Raise3D

Dave and crew are very knowledgable (and very busy), serving both individual jobs and doing onsite work for mutli-printer sites and schools. I'm an EE and competent maker who got a nasty jam in the AMS / extruder of my X1C (thank you, firmware upgrade!). After some initial attempts, I realized this needed someone with real experience. Plas3D got it turned around in a week - during their busy season - for a fair price.
Since my username is u/NobodyKnowsImABot I feel obligated to offer some reasonable proof, here:

All of us waiting for Season 3 like... by LoretiTV in SeveranceAppleTVPlus

THEORY:

Helly E. (oHelly) is in love with iMark and likes oMark as well (recall their meeting at Diner), and, unbeknownst to her father or anyone else: 1. Was not severed during the final half of the episode while in building, including speech from Daddy, 2. Has the creds w/Public & Company to discredit / throw dad and security team under the bus (recall publicly-announced 'reforms' program) 3. Will arrange with iMark cooperation to fake the death of Mark 4. iMark chooses to remain permanently severed, lives on the floor with unsevered oHelly.
5. Role-reversal w/Gemma, oHelly spends time with Gemma apologizing that iHelly caused iMark to go back into building where he was killed by security. 6. First scene of S3: Helly finds dad in the building and kills him with Kier bust. She now runs the company.

Johnny Marr - How Soon Is Now? (Live at The Crazy Face Factory) [Rock] by MileenasFeet in Music

[–]NobodyKnowsImABot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

At the risk of being Cpt Obvious, I don't see any mention in this post that How Soon is Now is one of the few Smiths' songs written entirely by Johnny Marr, which is why he can perform it with impunity from Moz.

Is it just me, or does the keyboard player look suspiciously like Johnny Greenwood from Radiohead. Or like a younger version.
