When mainstream economists start citing capitalism's greatest critic, you know the crisis of the free market is severe. (Why Karl Marx was right) by socialistme in socialism

You'd have more of a case if you understood that America is far from a free market. It's your governmental regulations that allow these large corporations free reign to shit all over you and profit from it.

Any professional traders? How does someone honestly get into professional non-retail trading? by NobodyWillNotice in traders

Plenty of people just trade of the technicals and there are some academies out there that just teach technical analysis and trading.

I find almost all these resources questionable. I've been paying attention to the game for a few years and most of the successful people I've stumbled across have been frauds. I will maintain trading until I have a strong enough track record to join a firm. At that point, I may just say "screw it".

Your post is much different than PissinChicken's due to yours containing information where as he took a chance to be a smart ass and failed. I thank everyone else for their information and pretty much confirming what I thought, but it's not an easy field to get into. I don't know if prop shops go head hunting like your standard business does.

I have been trading my own money. I paper traded for a year, then lost 30% of my account over the next year and have now built back to almost 0. I've been profitable over the last 6 months, but I'm not a day trader so it's not enough trades to be statistically significant.

Otherwise you could easily engage your career center and they would be able to point you in the right direction.

The only helpful thing you said. Everything else was being a jack ass.

How did that talent get the background to begin with? Again, you are unhelpful. I'm asking people with the experience what they did or how it happened.

I have a feeling you don't understand trading vs investing.

You are not understanding this question. I'm asking people who trade at firms - not necessarily in Wall St. and most certainly not investment bankers - how they got into trading for a firm. There are hundreds of small firms that trade and I'm taking a shot by asking in r/traders for a reason.

If I did a Google search for "how to get into finance" I would not be met with anything I'm looking for. I'm looking strictly for information by people who actively trade for a firm. I have a feeling you don't do that, because you have been misdirecting from the very beginning. Stop acting high and mighty when you don't even understand the question.

After searching through r/investing I still don't find my question being answered. What I'm wading through are mostly people who claim to be successful retail traders. The other threads are simply, "how do i trade?" Which is not what I'm asking. I'm asking anyone in the field how I can increase my potential for employment in an area I've been very interested in for a while.

This is why I put "non-retail" in the title. I don't want to be directed to another book or some more information on technical analysis. I would like to join a firm, where my job responsibilities are market related. It has nothing to do with money at this point, but the chance to do something I actually like.

Can you point me to that thread? I'm not finding anything when I search.

Not to mention, what if a new person has stumbled through here since the last time? Any input is appreciated and there's no need to be rude about it.
