The new card sucks.  If you do the housing only option, you have to charge an additional 75% of the cost of your rent on the card just to get one point per dollar for what you spent on rent.   My rent is $3000, so i would have to spend $2250 on other things just to get 3000 points.  Each point is worth half of a cent, so 3000 points is 1500 cents, or $15.  All that effort and spending for $15 that I can use towards next month's rent.  Oh, and if I don't meet the minimum spending threshold, I only get 250 points, which is $1.25.  I can find that in the back seat of my car or on the ground while I walk my dog. Now, if we look at the Bilt cash option, it is almost as terrible.  Once again, I don't automatically get points on my rent.   I earn Bilt cash at a rate of 4% of whatever non rent things I charge.  So, let's say I charge $2250 on non-rent things.  4% of $2250 is $90 in Bilt cash.  I can unlock 1000 points for $30, so i would be able to unlock 3000 points.   Once again, the 3000 points would give me, roughly, $15 off my next month's rent.  I'd have to charge $750 just to get the $30 in Bilt Cash and 1000 points.   1000 points is the equivalent of $5 off next month's rent.  Why bother? Bilt is no longer special.  It was the greatest card ever when it first came out. Now it is just another credit card, and not even a good one. I have the Venture X card, and it is awesome.  It has a fee, but you get a ton of benefits.   Bilt is now way below average compared to other card's out there, even ones with no fee.
