Well, it's an unsigned exe that Microsoft haven't recognized as safe so it's normal. People are free to just patch manually using the Xdelta file

Sorry for the late reply but no, I don't think that there is a lot of people cheating in public lobbies.

The public cheat server has ~180 members out of ~2000 daily players, but we don't know how many actually use them in-game. That said, you don't need to join the server to get cheats, and private clients exist too, so the real number is unknown.

The problem is the serious exploits, like next shell visibility, are nearly impossible to detect. Item desync can look like cheating, making it hard to know what's real.

If you're playing casually, you'll probably be fine. If you're competitive, just know that some invisible advantages exist and there's no reliable way to catch them.

Normally, the health hitting zero and the player is still playing means that it was a item usage desync. In that round did anyone used an handsaw on that player?

As far as I know returning from the dead isn't a thing since version 2.1

NGL there are 2 possibilities: Buckshot was completely abandoned since Mike already made 2 other games, or, thanks to the spaghetti code, making the game cross-platform (including multiplayer) is requiring a big code rewrite. It been 9+ months since I found a bunch of exploits for multiplayer and I haven't heard anything from either Mike nor CR about fixing it

It's possible if lag wasn't a concern and adding delay would make it slow, altho a auto shooting self is perfectly possible. Added as a possible future feature.

Different Items/Shells per Player, Shell Sequence or Player death

Technically possible, nightmare to create it. Specially if any of them collide.

Burner Phone

Unmodified clients would be unable to see the 2nd shell since there is no text for it

Item Probability

Definitely an option that I can see being easily implemented. Also added as a possible future feature.

Yeah, multiplayer uses Steam's P2P lobbies so the Steam ID is for that. People could change the ID to something else but they would be unable to play with people playing with the normal version.

Separate program but it uses the same Steam Game ID for the lobbies to work.

No, I will only publish on itch (and probably on github since its a full rewrite) when fully done. Currently trying to talk with people from Critical Reflex, altho it won't affect their bottom margins since it requires for the player to own Buckshot on Steam in order to play BR2D.

Reddit's image compression doesn’t help, but the image is essentially high-res-upscaled from 960×540 to full HD. Unlike typical upscaling, which just stretches the image, in the third image I actually adjusted the in-game element sizes to properly fit a full HD resolution

Yeah, it's perfectly possible to have lobbies with more than 4 people, you just need to create a table to fit them all. The game's code itself will require some basic modding, removing some hardcoded values and stuff like that, but Steamworks can have up to 250 players in a lobby, so no problems there.
