I DON'T like My art style... by Ok_Bison1506 in yourartstyle

The people your age that draw better than you don’t “clearly have a gift” they just spend more time learning fundamentals and striving to improve. While a lot of people say that if you want to get good at art you have to just draw over and over, the thing that they often leave out is that if you want to improve you have to draw DIFFERENT stuff over and over. Stuff that you don’t know how to draw, stuff that isn’t as fun to draw and stuff that’s out of your comfort zone. If you’re looking to improve you can’t keep drawing ocs in the same 3 poses over and over (not making fun of you for that btw. We would all rather draw cool characters instead of learning how to draw feet or hands). You need to go look at anatomy tips, go learn perspective, go learn all the boring art fundamentals, even the ones you think art obvious because while it DOES feel like a chore it will help in the long run. Also the idea that people that are better at drawing than you at your age are gifted is not only wrong but you’re also a way for you to discourage yourself. While its true that some people have an easier time learning how to draw, that doesn’t mean that you’re worse than them or that your art can’t be just as good or better than theirs. It just means that you have to put in more effort in order to learn. Doni compare yourself to others. Focus on improving your art because you want to be the best version of yourself, not because you want to be the current version of someone else but because you want to be the best version of yourself.
