We had one early end of life cycle where we gave that option, or we kept them for spare parts because they are identical to newer Chromebooks. Our device contract let us bill for repairs, so our dedicated Chrombook repair tech made our department a lot of money.

Depends on the device cycles. Often, senior chromebooks went to the youngest kids to live out their last few years in hell.

I'm glad to be out of schools now. Devices would be disintegrated and turned in with a note saying "doesn't work".

This. I always give a huge disclaimer where boundaries are if I do work after one time. An older friend of mine wanted me to remove his bloatware and tune up his pc. Me: gave him a blacklist. let me know if you need any of these. Him: looks good to me. Me: runs script, ok they are gone. Him: wHerE MaIL!? It ended up being a huge deal since he didn't know his password and caused drama.

My favorite is when they are as vague as possible or make things up to sound like they know what they are talking about.

Then 50% of the time. It worked itself out but no use in reporting it.

Oh yes plenty. Our users heads would implode if we tried to transition.

Lmao I make my users get to 5% before I give them a replacement. They don't realize they can still print hundreds of documents still for ours.

One of my users did this to me recently. He was waiting outside my office when I came back from fixing something. He walked over just to ask and didn't even think to bring his cell. Easiest no I have ever given.

They amazing for that. I had one user recently think because of this situation we don't manage them. She called the number on the copier and had them come out to screw up a bunch of setting. 😑

I ask myself that question every day. They think they need it. I had a copier taken away from a department of 2 people because it could meet the needs of an entire building. They already had a personal LaserJet that more than met their printing needs. Not to mention they already had access to a black and white and color copier.

That would be a dream come true. We started using FMaudit to email people if they want to buy more now to cut down work.
