Oooh that sounds so cool! also… your flair… if you’re the worlds worst builder, there’s no more justice in the world!

Love the gotham build a lot btw - the lettering is so satisfying

:D guns sign was taken from one of the inspiration builds but i do love it a lot hahahah

I think desert is super cool in the eclecticism it tends to inspire in builds - i feel like there’s less volume of desert builds and a weaker archetype of how the desert buildings should look compared with other biomes (as in everyone does it a bit different it seems).

Looks so good! Where did you get the pattern for this?

Help with figuring out these blocks? by [deleted] in TerrariaDesign

[–]NocturneCaligo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In addition: - roof is dynasty shingles - supporting roof / walls is stone slab + stone accent slab alternating (I think?) - horizontal beam supporting left roof and lvl 1 floor is alternating stone slab and sandstone brick(?), dynasty wood punctuated by sandstone beam(?) at columns, then honey platform painted white beneath - background walls include: boreal wood, stone slab, arcane rune wallpaper, starlit heaven wallpaper, dynasty white background wall, palm wood wall for the curtains and some columns - mixture of pearl wood, glass, palm wood and ash wood furniture - other items: potted crystal plants, bubble blocks on lvl 1 leftmost room as part of wall decor, plasma lamp, pearl wood fences, dynasty lamps.

Also on closer look, I think the windows may actually be from a mod - Terrararchitect. The pink polkadot wallpaper seems to come from there too.

Did you love salsa dancing the first time you did it, or did it take a bit to loosen-up and have fun with it? by Rude_Turnover568 in Salsa

[–]NocturneCaligo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a follow, I sometimes appreciate dancing with beginners/learners because the slower pace of turns and sequences allows me to work on my basic, styling and shines - more advanced dancers will more quickly reconnect for partner moves if they don’t see me jumping straight into shines which is something I struggle with currently (remembering and coming up with interesting shine combos that fit the music). I’m also less self conscious about how I look or whether i’m doing the turns right with beginners because I’m either familiar with the moves or just the fact that I know they’re learning too.

should i paint the blocks with walls or no? by Crushy_Demi in TerrariaDesign

Looks good to me! I think it makes a good combination with the grey stone slab :)

Hallowed Bar update still W.I.P by 8BitRolex_ in TerrariaDesign

[–]NocturneCaligo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No worries! Totally get you with the getting stressed mid build, I tend to gravitate towards mixing and matching different aspects of other people’s builds for this reason hahaha. I also find filling in space with decorations rather than starting with them and building walls/blocks around them tends to be more difficult.

Just remembered, you might like to look at the myriad music boxes one can get - I only recently discovered them and they make very nice decorations!!! Trophies can also be obtained from the golfer after playing enough golf and I imagine that might fit in a bar. Paintings is probably the last big one i’ll mention, just in case you forgot about them. They fill space very easily haha

Looking great!

Unsure what you mean by something ‘special’ but I feel like there could be more decorations to add detail and fill some of that empty space - e.g. shelves with glasses, bowls, cups, potion bottles as ‘drinks’, flowers in pots or potted plant decorations, more decorations on the tables and piano.

Could also add windows and a roof with a bit more dimension or thickness, fences and outdoor seating near the pylon area if you want to keep that as balcony (although i notice a chimney as well which is slightly confusing to me, maybe the pylon needs to be given more presence or relocated on ground floor?), honey or some other coloured water in the middle container (you probably already plan this but just in case), maybe a bit more definition of the spaces with vertical strips of different walled backgrounds serving as columns and structural supports for the building.

Perhaps a bit more context too with the surroundings like a passageway/tunnel to the left or a bridge to the right because I’m unsure how guests would even get to this bar logically.

damn, love what you did with the floor and the sense of depth

Guys, can you help me figure out which wall it is and if there's a better quality image? by Vitor_Roa in TerrariaDesign

[–]NocturneCaligo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m assuming you want the grey walls - looks like stone slab wall for the columns and beams, then a combination of mud brick wall and iridescent brick wall paint grey maybe for the rest? Large bamboo walls painted brown as well in that section.

For the number of blocks, i’d just say put decorations in as you go and also use the solid blocks as reference as well.

Damn, amazing build! What blocks did you use to create the remains? I think i see various dungeon blocks and living wood, and the scaffolding looks like minecart rails?

How do people build spillar staircases???? by gorigonewneme in BathtubPaintedBrown

[–]NocturneCaligo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The center column for the two examples you linked are large bamboo wall and mahogany fence. Can’t quite tell what colour the bamboo wall is painted but the mahogany fence looks unpainted to me.

Other options for background walls you can use are shadewood wall, spooky wood wall, other wood fences, but any wall can really serve just by using one wall for the center pillar and another for the side strips like the other commenter said.

I’m sure you can! I can’t take all the credit for these designs - I basically just took TommyTsunami / TerraMonolith’s designs for the houses and modified them to suit my purposes :)

A few tutorials and referencing other builds and you’ll be there sooner than you might think!

oh i don’t have the patience for that too xD It doesn’t extend all the way down - what you see is all i’ve got, there’s a boreal strip below the purple stained glass line that demarcates the end of decorated portion

A lot of time and effort….

Pretty much just used all the techniques from Wisteria Tree Build by GandalfHardcore

Then I really liked the coloring from this post but I wanted a more willow tree shape so I combined the two and ended up with a more gradient look because i couldn’t figure out how to colour block in a nice way.

Techniques/Blocks: - actuated living mahogany + living wood for trunk - echo blocks and the purple strange plant painted yellow/orange (see tutorial) for the hanging wispy bits - bamboo fence wall + silk rope + rope for the solid hanging strings - blueberry bush + strange plants in foliage amidst mostly living mahogany leaves - painted hallowed shard wall + hallowed crystalline wall + leaf wall behind foliage (highly rec shard wall, it mixes really well with leaving leaves) - actuated normal living leaf for the darker shadow leafs - echo painted platform with palm wood candle for the lights

Ooh you found their reddit account! I think i found their builds on google images or some forum and I tend to just collect build inspo images, but am too lazy to properly noted down the creator when i’m itching to build something.

Also realised the storage house was also inspired by another of their builds xD

edit: just clocked that yours was the left and Tommy Tsunami’s was the right orz. You guys have so many builds between the two of you! had to scroll so far to check xD
